[So here is the next chapter, I hope you enjoy!! this chapter is dedicated to @EviganLover87 Thanx for following my story ^-^!!!]
The world was spinning, granted it looked more focused than it did earlier in the morning, I could still feel my body lean to the side slightly as I walked towards my room. I was only inches from the door to my room, and my bed, before the grumbling in my stomach informed me I had to make another U-turn and backtrack to the bathroom... again. It was a good solid thirty minutes before I made it back into the warm blankets of my soft and overly welcoming bed. Burying my head under the covers I reached over to my nightstand and searched for my phone only to find nothing there. I was tempted to forget about the device and look for it later, when I could actually stand, but I knew school would be out soon and Trish would be calling again to check in.
Groaning I climbed sluggishly out of bed and looked around my room, but still I couldn’t find the blasted thing. Leaving my room I moved quickly downstairs and made my way to the sound of the TV. In the living room I found Cassie, my little sister, lying on her stomach playing on her PlayStation, completely surrounded by all sorts of unhealthy foods and drink. I guessed mom and dad were out for the afternoon.
“Hey Cass, have you seen my phone anywhere?” I asked sluggishly, the medication I had taken earlier still dulling my senses moderately. She didn’t even look as she spoke, using her controller to point to the table next to the sofa, my cell phone the only object occupying the surface.
“Trish called, said she was bringing friends.”
I paused in the process of reaching for the phone and looked up at the clock above the fireplace. School had been out for an hour now. I cringed inwardly at the thought of having to deal with anyone in my current state.
“Did she say who it was?” I asked hesitantly, not too sure if I even wanted to know the answer.
“Nope, she did- shit what the hell Harry, go around the back and sniper the recon team you dolt!” Cassie yelled angrily and I realised she had her online headset on for group gaming. I sat and waited, knowing the game would end soon as she sat up and the screen began flashing red.
“You dumbass, we’ll be DOA now that you’ve announced us with that grenade, just- screw it, I’m out!”
Ripping off her headset in frustration, she threw it to the side and grabbed a bag of chips. When she spoke, it was as if there had never been an interruption in our conversation at all.
“Didn’t say who, just that they might be with her. So you alive?” she asked, her voice more curious than concerned. I leaned further into the sofa, my sore body appreciating the soft cushioning.
“Somewhat, my systems settled at least, so that’s something.”
Cassie nodded her head as she chewed away at her chips. “Well, you’re not limping as bad anymore.”
I smiled weakly, “Yeah, the support helps.” I patted the bandage that wrapped my ankle tightly, wincing slightly as I misjudged my own strength.
“Idiot…” Cassie mumbled with a mouth full of chips. I could hear a hint of distraction in her normal jab and looked up at her curiously and saw that she was staring at me.
“What’s eating you?” I asked slowly, curious at what could distract her from her precious chips.
“Who’s Mia?” She asked directly. The question caught me off guard and totally by surprise and before I could stop myself I could feel the flush spread all over my skin.
“Why do you ask?” I mumbled softly, trying to remember when I had mentioned the name to her. Cassie’s mouth quirked into a smile as she watched me fluster and I knew immediately that she could read me like a book.
