[Hey ^-^! Took a while to write & upload this due to school obligations, but anyway... hope you like it. Thanks for reading this far!]

There was a dull ache in my body that even lying down didn’t seem to ease. Rubbing my temples in frustration I tried to calm my thoughts and ignore the other ache that only brought on anger. There was very little light that streamed in from the window. I could hear the faint whispers of activity that told me lunch break was at its most busy time. Sighing, I tried to ignore the noise, but one shout caught my attention and halted the rise and fall of my chest.

“Angel! Where the hell have you been?”

The voices below the window grew distant, but the damage was done. Already my hand had curled into a fist and I was reliving the uppercut I had dealt Michael Angel.

“What the hell…?” it seemed like all I could ask myself as I tried to make sense of what had happened. Even after Michael had explained the rumour, I still couldn’t see where he had gotten the idea that they were true.

I grit my teeth as I thought of the person prying into my personal life and spreading the wrong kind of things.

“Shit.” The frustration in my voice seemed to travel through my veins as I realized that it wasn’t so much the rumour that annoyed me, but the fact that they had assumed the wrong twin.

“This isn’t your home, you know.” Dr Ruby drawled as she walked into the nurse’s office. Turning my head to peek through the gap I had left in the curtains, watching as she regarded me. Realizing she wasn’t going to get any response, Dr Ruby walked to her desk and dropped the files in her hand, before sitting, swivelling her chair in my direction.

“Okay, I think you need to be reminded this isn’t the guidance counsellor’s office either.” She stated pointedly. I groaned as I thought of Mrs Soe’s annoyingly fake smile.

“I’d rather become mute than talk to Laura’s mom.” I grimaced. Dr Ruby tried to stifle a smile, clearly agreeing with me.

“Can’t blame you there…” she rolled closer to the bed, opening up the curtains, “so, what’s eating you this time?”

I grimaced again at the memory of Michael’s sudden attack, causing Dr Ruby to raise her brow as she watched me. When I spoke I tried to keep my tone as civil as possible.

“I was kissed by Michael Angel.”

“Oh… that all?”

I looked over at the doctor in annoyance, “Great reaction doc.”

Waving her hand dismissively, she leaned back in her chair as she reached in her front pocket and took out a lollipop and began unwrapping it.

“Sorry kid, but I can’t say I’m surprised.”

I examined her curiously, “What do you mean?”

Shaking her head at some inner joke, the doctor turned to me, tapping the side of her head comically.

“I’ve always known he liked you…” she smiled as she glanced off in amused thought, “I guess the rumour must have given him the confidence to make his move.”

I cringed internally at the mention of the rumour.

“When did that stupid story start?” I asked irritated. Dr Ruby played with her lollipop as she continued to glance off, presumably into her memories.

“I think it was just a day or two after you took off sick… somewhere around there,” she focused on me, smiling mischievously, “nearly fell off my chair laughing when I overheard it in the hallway.” She laughed silently as she looked at me.
