Anyway, Enjoy!]

I walked up to the front door, not sure what it was I was supposed to be feeling. Half of me wanted to turn around and get right back into my car and leave while the other half couldn't stand the idea that Amy might be hurting all alone in her room. Just as I was about to decide, Mrs Mason opened the door and nearly rammed right into me.

"Oh! Hey Trish- sorry dear, I'm in a hurry, the girls are somewhere inside." she mumbled, grabbing me in a motherly hug as she stormed off with a reminder that I was to eat whatever was in the kitchen. I smiled as I waved her off and sighed in defeat. There was no turning back as I moved over the threshold and peeked into the living area. Cassidy looked up from her game, nodding her head in greeting.

"Hey Trish, foods still hot..." she trailed off as she turned back to the game.

Nodding my own head I moved in the direction of Amy's room but was stopped by Cassidy as she called out to me.

"Psycho's out back, beware the chokehold!"

Pausing in the hallway to look at her in confusion I watched as Cassidy just shrugged her shoulders and continued smashing away at her controller.

Turning around I made my way slowly through the kitchen trying to decide if I was ready to deal with this yet. The food smelled delicious so I found myself stopping and grabbing a taste of Mrs Mason's mac and cheese before heading out the back door to the porch.

Once I was sure I wasn't about to turn and drive off after all I walked out the back door. To my surprise I found Amy not sitting sadly by the swing chair crying, as I had imagined, but sitting on the steps of the porch admiring the sunset lost in thought.

"So... psycho, huh?" I asked curiously, approaching her cautiously before taking a seat next to her.

Surprising me more Amy grinned, her eyes still on the horizon, "I think it fits."

I raised my eyebrow sceptically, "Really now, and why is that?"

Amy glanced at me out the corner of her eye, her expression hard to read.

"Haven't you heard the latest gossip?"

Slightly taken aback by her directness I nodded my head scanning her face in concern.

"Are you okay?"

"Okay?" she asked running her hand through her hair as she finally looked down from the horizon, "Trish I think I'm really losing my mind..."

"I'm sure it's not as bad as you think." I soothed, placing my hand on her arm.

Amy turned to look at me, confusion lining her face, "Bad? No wait..." waving her hand she laughed a little startling me slightly as she turned to face me, "I think you have the wrong idea here."

Creasing my brow I tilted my head, not understanding. Amy laughed again as she read my expression clearly.

"Trish, this isn't 'bad'," she began, her voice struggling to hide a strange hint of excitement, "this is perfect!"

I raised my eyebrows, completely baffled, "I don't think I'm with you...?"

Amy laughed as she suddenly grabbed me in a tight hug reminding me of Cassidy's warning earlier. Pulling back she scratched her head curiously as she leaned back.

"Where do I begin!?" she exclaimed in excitement.

"How about at the part where Mia Angel being the one who started the rumour, is a good thing...?" I offered seriously.

"A perfect thing!" she corrected and I narrowed my eyes as I itched to check her temperature.

"Amy, are you okay?" I asked worry beginning to eat at my stomach as I scanned her face.

Amy tilted her face sideways as she grinned my way, "Oh Trish..." she sighed as she turned back to looking out at the horizon. Giving in to the compulsion I reached over and pressed my palm against her forehead. Her skin was warm, but no more than usual. There wasn't even a film of sticky reside from the sweat she must have had in buckets with all the extra practice she had come from. The fact that she still had her running gear on told me that she was barely home thirty minutes, if not less, so she should have at least been somewhat exhausted from the cool down exercises if nothing else. But here she sat calmly watching the sunset, grinning.

Amy slowly began to laugh as she picked up on my thoughts. Glaring down at her I brought my hand down to her cheek, ignoring the shiver that ran down my back as I did so.

"Are you running a fever that I can't feel or something?"

Bringing her hand up to her face Amy gently clutched my hand and pressed her face into it as she spoke.

"You know... it wasn't too long ago that I was talking to Randy about waiting for some kind of 'sign'," turning to me she closed her eyes as she shook her head slightly, "honestly I just said it out of the blue. At first I thought it was random, but the more I thought about it..."

Opening her eyes, Amy directed her gaze straight at me, "Then Cassidy gave me this intense lecture about waiting too long and barely a day later I'm running into Mia and all this happens!"

Shaking her head she laughed slightly, "That would have been enough, but the best part, the important part I think, is the part that comes after," squeezing my hand Amy looked me in the eye making sure I was paying attention, "the part I'm talking about is the crazy fact that Mia was the one who started that rumour."

Narrowing my eyes I gripped her hand and shook it slightly.

"You know you sound a little crazy right now?"

Amy laughed as she nodded her head and leaned in my direction.

"That's because I'm crazy in love!"

I couldn't help it as a pang struck my chest unexpectedly. Flinching subtly I tried to shake it off as I nodded my head more vigorously than I had intended.

"Yeah, I can see that." I mumbled.

Resting her head on my shoulder Amy sighed softly as she looked out over the horizon. Her hands stayed linked with mine, clearly she had no intention of unhooking them and despite the small stab of regret I knew would come from the warmth that spread from where she held me I found myself unable to let her go just yet.

"Trish..." she breathed softly, "It's one thing to have hope, but it's an entirely different thing to have that hope fanned into life, you know?"

Breathing in deeply I slowly forced my fingers apart from hers and let my hand fall to the side as I looked down at her head, smiling sadly.

"Yeah... I know."

[Poor Trish, being a friend when you want to be a lover can be a heartbreaking affair, but what can one do... >.<
