“So what now?” Jason asked as he closed the car door behind him.
I turned around to face him. He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and looked at me expectantly.
“Well we could go eat something.” I said feeling a bit hungry.
“I could eat.” Titi said wiping his hands from the oil.
“And you should call Aliana.” I suggested remembering Titi wanted to fan girl over her car.
“Yes! Yes! Please! I wanna see the impala!” Titi exclaimed like a little kid on Christmas.
“Aight. I’ll call her right now.” Jason grinned and walked further away to have some privacy.
Once Jason was a safe distance away Titi gave me a sly grin, but I saw that his eyes looked strangely guarded.
“What?” I asked him defensively.
“Nothing.” He said his grin widening just a bit more.
He got on the floor, and lied on the old, rusty car creeper and slid under the car.
“Nothing?” I asked sarcastically. “Titi cut the bullshit and just tell me.” I said irritated.
“It’s more ask you than tell you.” He said.
I sighed. “Fine, ask me already.”
“What’s going on with you and Jason?” He asked in a strange tone I hadn’t heard him use before.
I chocked a bit. “Nothing is going on with me and Jason.” I said looking to where Jason stood to make sure he wasn’t listening.
He rolled out enough to give me a pointed look before rolling back under the car.
“You sure about that?” He asked not believing me.
“Yes, I’m sure. I mean sure, we’ve grown slightly closer from the first time we met. I don’t consider him a creep; more like a friend. He was dealing with some things the wrong way and I just wanted to prove to him that things can be dealt with in a good way.” I explained to him shrugging even though he couldn’t see me.
“And illegal street racing is a good way?” He asked amused.
I glared at him hoping he can at least feel it. “No! I’m not taking him street racing and neither are you, but racing in general is a good stress reliever. Letting the adrenaline ease your worries and all the shit that one goes through is a good way.” I said like I was explaining to a child.
“Ok… but nothing else is going on between you two?” He asked pulling out from under the car to look at me clearly.
