Race to the Finish chp.3

I stomped on the gas and floored it. The car roared to life giving me a thrill that ran through my veins. I swerved fast at every corner making an annoying screeching sound, but I didn't really mind it. The streets were dark, there is no one in sight, but I don't care because my mind is focused solemnly on the race. I sped up more and was head to head with the dumb-ass from earlier; both of us in the lead. I didn't take my eyes off the road for even a second. The adrenaline is pulsating through my entire body and my heart is racing uncontrollably. This is the best feeling in the world.

All of the sudden my car gets hit from the side. I winced. That will cause some damage on the paint job, but it luckily didn't didn't affect my driving. I still didn't take my eyes off the road as he tried pushing me off the road. I didn't worry about him and kept my focus on the road and on his driving, so he won't hit my car hard enough to cause any serious damage. Then my eyes widened and my breath caught in my throat. Right before my eyes was the cliff that Marcos was talking about and I'm nearest on to the edge. If he hits my car, I'm sure to fall off. I began to panic a little and was looking for an escape route.

Don't panic! You won't fall off because that will prevent you from getting to the finish! I am determined and I don't care if I win, I'm getting to that finish line alive!

With those thoughts I forcefully stepped on the break pedal making the car stop abruptly, letting him pass me. Now I accelerate gaining on him once again. This time though, I locate myself on his other side so now he is the one closest to the edge. He then passes me in a blur. He had pressed his NO2 (nitrous oxide gas), gas that speeds up your car much more, just a minute too early. I laughed at his idiocy. I saw the finish line and started counting the seconds and the I blasted off pressing the button that releases the NO2 in my car. It caused some cool blue looking flames to come put from the exhaust. My heart was pounding so hard that I was afraid it was going to burst out from my chest before I finished the race. Everyone was cheering and standing around anxiously. Some were sweating from the nerves, waiting to see which one of us two would win the race. He passed the finish line...

A second after me! I had won the race and was in complete shock, but not because I won, but because of the exhilarating race. I sat in the car my eyes dazed. I breathed heavily with a goofy smile glued to my face. I was still gripping tightly on the wheel, when I jump startled by the sound of a car door being slammed shut. I looked out the window and saw that the dumb-ass was pissed beyond words. I grinned. I told you I was good enough.

"I'm telling you she cheated!" he yelled angrily at Titi and Marcos. Titi had an amused look in eyes as he smirked at him, while Marco just looked like he wanted to go home already.

I chose that moment to open the car door and slowly stepped out. The winds were hitting my hair making it flow around me. I walked confidently up to them.

"I didn't cheat... Plus how can I cheat if there are no rules?" I asked with a smug expression. Titi shook his head slowly, laughing a little.

He glared at me and I looked directly into his eyes showing him that he wasn't intimidating me.

"Yes. You. Did! Bitch!" he yelled and he spit a little on my face.

I was about to say 'say it don't spray it, but Titi interrupted.

"Look, Doug, she is right. Not only did she not cheat, but it is impossible to cheat in illegal car races." he said to dumb-ass aka Doug.

Without having broken eye contact with Doug not even as Titi spoke, I extended my hand out towards Titi with my palm flat facing upward. Titi placed the cash that I'd won for the race in my palm.

"Thanks Titi." I say with a bright smile turning to face him and handing him my car keys.

After he took them I glanced at my phone to check the time and saw it was 1 am.
