Race to the Finish chp.55

The door opened to reveal Lisa looking tired, but dressed to go to work. She smiled when she saw me, but when she really looked at me, her smile dropped and worry entered her eyes.

"Tiennan!" She called out to him in a wary tone not taking her eyes off me.

"Ma! I'm taking a piss!" Titi yelled back.

Lisa rolled her eyes. "Tiennan get your ass out here!" She yelled firmly.

"Ma!" Titi whined. "Don't talk to me like that! It makes me feel less of a man!" 

"What man? You still wear spidey underwear!" Lisa yelled back at him.

A small smile grazed my face, but I doubt it reached my eyes since the unshed tears burned my eyes.

"Ma!" Titi whined stomping out of the bathroom in just his boxers.

When his eyes landed on me at the door they lit up and a bright smile rose on his face, but when he inspected me closer his smile immediately left his face and the shine in his eyes disappeared right along with his smile. His eyes darkened in worry and a crease appeared on his forhead.

"I'll leave you two to talk." Lisa whispered in my ear.

I nodded at her and she hugged me before she pulled away and stiffling a yawn as she turned to give her son a kiss on his cheek. Then she turned back around caressed my cheek with a sad smile and left the house.

I was looking down at the ground, but once I felt Titi's body heat I knew I had to look up at him. I had no choice.

My eyes traveled up from the ground slowly. My eyes traveled up his long legs, chiseled abs, firm chest, and finally met his chocolately brown eyes darkened my worry and slight anger.

Once my eyes connected with his I couldn't hold back the tears any longer. Sobs wracked my body as the tears streamed down my face. My hands covered my mouth in a failed attempt to block the sounds of my sobs. Titi's warm, strong arms immediately wrapped themselves around my body pulling me close to him making me feel safe. 

"Come on baby girl let's get you to bed." He whispered in my ear as he gently guided me to his room. 

He laid me down on his bed and pulled my shoes off. He then crawled in under the covers right beside me. He again pulled me close to his chest and wrapped his arms securely around me as I cried into his warm chest. 

"A, get some sleep. You can tell me everything after you've been well rested." He whispered.

I sniffed. "Thank you T." I whispered back.

"No problem, A. I would do anything for you... I'm just too awesome." He just had to add that.

I chuckled softly and sniffed. His chest rumbled with silent laughter as well which soothed me just like the engine of my car.
