I cleared my throat to make my voice deeper and stood up straight and tense.

"Derek, what do you want?" I asked him not wanting to beat around the bush.

He smiled cockily and walked forward closer to me.

"Nothing much. I just wanted to tell you that maybe you shouldn't race tonight." He smirked at me and I swear my blood started boiling.

"Listen to me you piece of shit, you better not f*cking mess with my car or I swear you are going to regret it." I said as deeply and menacing as I possibly could.

He chuckled as if this whole thing was just some f*cking joke to him.

"I'm not going to mess with your car. I haven't done anything, but I do plan on winning today and you are not going to stop me." His smirk never left his face.

My hands balled into fists as the anger just grew inside of me. That motherf*cker is not about to mess with my car again. I need to make sure that Jerry has checked every single inch of my f*cking car.

I growled lowly and was about to stalk forward and punch him square in the face when Jerry calling me over stopped me.

Derek's smirk grew wider. "Good luck tonight Reed, you are going to need it." He turned to leave, but turned to face me once again. "Oh, and by the way, I'll leave your girlfriend's motorcycle by the bathrooms." He licked his lips and finally left.

I grimaced. He's so gross.

"REED!" Jerry called out to me once again.

I groaned. "I'm going. I'm going."

I looked in the direction Derek had gone once more and turned to go over to Jerry.

I had a very bad feeling. I knew Derek was up to something. I don't know if he would be stupid enough to mess with my car again, but he sure as hell has something planned for today's race. And I know whatever it is, isn't going to be good.

I stalked over to Jerry still very on edge about Derek. I stopped in front of Jerry still fuming and not looking at him in the eyes.

"What?" I spat out.

"Reed! What have I told you fighting? Do you want to get kicked out?!" Jerry said trying to keep his anger and frustration at bay.

I ignored his questions and cut right to the chase. "Jerry I need you to check every inch of my car again. I know Derek has something planned. I don't know what it is but I know he's up to something."

Jerry's anger and frustration simmered as he processed what I had just said. He leaned in closer and in a hushed tone asked, "You think he did something to your car again?"

I sighed and dropped my shoulders. "I don't know for sure," I clenched my jaw and balled my fists, but immediately loosened them up due to the soreness on my wrist. "But I do know he's planning to win at any cost necessary."

Jerry nodded with a serious face. "I'm on it. I will check every inch of your car. I won't let anything get past me again. Let's go. We'll have everyone on team Reed check the car, including you."

I nodded and followed after him towards my car.

"Are you sure everything is in its place and working perfectly?" I asked for what seemed to be the millionth time.

Jerry nodded while checking the engine and breaks one more time. "Yes, it seems like everything is on check." He closed the hood of the car and wiped his hands on his pants. "But I wouldn't let my guard down if I were you." He said staring at me with all seriousness and tossed me my keys.
