"Where the hell where you yesterday?" Travis asked me as soon as stepped foot outside my car in the school parking lot.

"Sorry. My sister got sick and I had to take care of her." I told him as we walked to my locker. I lied about the sick part, but not about the taking care of her part. That even it out right?

"Well is she alright?" Travis asked with concern clear in his voice.

Travis is such a sweetie. He's an awesome guy that I'm glad I'm close friends with.

I smile at him. "She'll be fine. So how was school yesterday?"

"Weird." He replied looking at me as if I was the one being weird.

"Why?"

"Because this new dude was asking for you. He didn't know we were friends. I just heard him asking around for Alexandra and I was curious so I asked him. He said he wanted to know why you weren't at school."

Now it was my turn to look at him weird. He just shrugged.

"Wait. You are telling me some random dude was asking for me? At school?"

"Yep. For you and he goes here."

"What's his name?"

"Umm... I think it was Jason."

I stopped dead in my tracks. Travis had walked a few steps more, but as soon as he saw I wasn't walking anymore he stopped and turned to face me with a raised eyebrow.

"That creep?! God! What the hell does he want?! Since I met him he had this weird look in his eyes and he wouldn't stop staring at me in every period we had together! And then he tried talking to me! ME! A nobody in this school." I was now ranting. I couldn't help it he was creepy!

That kid seriously creeps me out! Why does he want to talk to me?! Out of all people me!

"Whoa, whoa. Take a deep breath there Alex. I've never seen you this livid about someone. Is this guy seriously creeping you out?" Travis asked as I take my books out of my locker.

"Yes! He was like staring at me nonstop and I could feel his gaze on me whenever I was near him. Wouldn't that creep you out?" I asked him as we both walked straight to the courtyard.

"Yes I would be. So just stay as far away from him as you can and ignore him as much as possible." Travis said as if it were the easiest thing in the world. Suuurrreee...

"Alright. I'll try. Anywho where is Tiana?" I asked trying to change the subject.

He shrugged. "I'm not sure as soon as we got to school she disappeared somewhere."

I just nodded and the bell rang. We hugged each other and said a quick 'see ya later'.

I was headed straight to class when someone appeared next to me.

"Why weren't you at school yesterday?" The deep sexy voice asked.

"Ask your dad." I replied nonchalantly.

"That'd be hard to do considering he is prison three states over."

I stopped and looked at him for a second.

His exterior seemed like he didn't give two rats' asses about it, but his grey eyes stormed showing pain and longing.

He didn't seem so creepy right now. Just someone who needed to be listened to and understood. With dark secrets to be unraveled.

But what made him think I could understand him?

I looked into his eyes just a moment longer and turned away to my continue to my destination... class. Which by the way we're late to.

I heard his heavy footsteps hot on my trail, but just kept walking. He gave a frustrated sigh and before I could reach the classroom, my safe heaven at this moment, I'm being pulled into a cramped, dark storage room.

The storage room is so cramped that my body is flushed against Jason's.

"What the hell Jason?!" I whisper-yelled in case there were any campus monitors lurking around able to hear us and get us in trouble.

He stayed silent for a while just looking into my honey colored eyes. His hot breathe brushed against face and neck.

"I need to talk to you."

"About?"

"You are different Alexandra. I can tell. You aren't some shy, nerdy girl. Your eyes hold rebellion, pain, and regret. Why can't you let me get to know you better? I'm not such a bad guy."

"But you are a creep and I don't know what your talking about. I have nothing to be pained about to regret. Why can't you just leave me alone?"

"Because you are mysterious and my curiosity is taking the best of me."

"Curiosity killed the cat." I replied. He doesn't know anything about me and doesn't need to.

He opened his mouth to say something, but his phone buzzed. He pulled it out of his pocket which only cause our bodies to squeeze tighter.

His well defined chest was warm against my palms that rested on his chest to give us some pace, but with no luck. His calloused hand was wrapped around my waist.

This is really not a good position to be in with someone who:

A) Isn't your boyfriend

AND

B) Is a creep who keeps staring at you

"Hello?" He asked through the phone. "No. I got it don't worry. Just keep them out of this. This is between you and me." He paused. I couldn't hear the conversation on the other end of the phone. "Yes, I understand. Do we meet at the usual place?" He nodded his head. I don't really know why it's not like they can see him. "I'm on my way." With that he hung up.

He looked at me directly in the eyes before opening the storage room door and exiting.

What the hell was that? Was all I could think at the moment.

I had dropped my book when he pulled me in here and I bent down to pick it up, but my fingers brushed against something small and paper-like. I picked it up and saw it was a picture.

On the picture there was a young boy who looked to be about 11 years old. He looked a lot like a young version of Jason. He was smiling, but he eyes were pleading. Next to him was a little boy who looked to be about 3 years old. His eyes were sad. On the other side of Jason was a girl who seems to be like 14 years old. She had a broken expression on her eyes and face; like she didn't try to hide it. On the other side of the girl was a man with blank expression. He looked tough and mean.

I held this picture tightly in my hands and shoved it in my bag.

What had Jason gone through as a kid? Him and all those people in that picture.

How does he seem to be able to read my into my eyes like I can his?

Is he really a creep or a good guy who'd come from a broken home?

I need to find out more about him, but at the same time keep my distance. I still don't trust him.

----------Author's Note------------

I know sucky boring chp. I'm sorry I pulled this chp out of my ass (pardon my french) because I wanted to talk a little more about Jason, but didn't want Alex uncovering anything deep yet because she still finds him creepy so she has to warm up to him...

Anywho hope you guys didn't think it was too sucky  :)
