Taylor's POV
"No, there aren't any unicorns here, but if I do find one I'll take a picture with it for you" I promised an exciting Ruby. She had blocked her mother's digital face and was nodding frantically.
"Aunty Tay, when would you be back?" she asked the question she was asking me every time we communicate like this. She had the most trouble understanding how long I would be gone.
"I'll be back before you know it" I grinned and she shook her head.
"That isn't an answer" she frowned. I sent a question glance to Kim and she shook her head sadly.
"Ruby, how about you go play with Mr. Duck and I finish chatting with your Aunty?" Kim bribed her and Ruby complied.
"Is it me or is it getting harder to lie to her?" I asked when I was sure Ruby was out of the room. Kim snorted.
"Trust me, it has. She has become more inquisitive. I had to break down to her yesterday, why she couldn't say the word shit and why I could. She borderline told me I was unfair and that I should learn from her mistakes" Kim frowned recalling the words her 5 years old had said to her.
I burst out laughing " Oh my gosh, where is she getting this from?"
Kim shook her head, " I don't know, but I am thinking about sending her to a different school"
"You can't send her to a different school because this one is so advance" I deadpanned. Kim shook her head.
"Yes, I can. They're making it hard on me, Tay. Soon she'll be asking me where babies come from and trust me, I am not ready for that!" Kim looked actually frightened and I was torn between laughing and sympathizing with her.
"It's okay, chill. How are you doing there?" I asked, wanting to change the conversation before Kim had a mini panic attack or worst a breakdown. She looked pretty close to both.
"It's good here" she answered, vaguely.
"Did you, um-" I gestured awkwardly.
"No, he hasn't gotten back to me on a date" she answered flatly, referring to Ruby's father's meet and greet. I rolled my eyes. " What about you?" sensing my rising anger, she switched it on me.
Smart girl.
"It's good. We are currently boarding for Georgia" I answered. Looking over to the other dancers as they board.
Yes, it has now been 3 weeks since I've been on the 'Here I am' tour and it was surely a memorable experience for me. After leaving Washington D.C, we visited California where I got the most unwanted tan of my life. We spent a week in each place. I had never been outside of New York to these far places, so when I went to Cali I kind of freaked out. I was like a little kid in a candy store. The weather there was so different compared to the weather I got adjusted to when I moved to New York.
