Wanting the Bad Boy - Chapter 4: Tangled Up In Me

The first day of school. It's always the worst. You psych yourself out by thinking that you wont have to learn, but you do. The first day of school is when you meet new people. New people who you will hate. New people who will hate you. New people that you cant trust.

I pulled into the school parking lot and picked up my bag from the passenger seat. I walked to the front of the school and in through the double doors.

I walked down the crowded hall that slowly fanned out as I came by. People didn't want to be near me. They feared me. People stared. People glared. People looked at me like I would pick a fight with them any minute, and they weren't wrong. I would.

The new freshmen stood in their hallway, pressed against their lockers. As I walked by a group of girls stopped their gossip. They all stared at me. Girls liked a mystery. That's what I was to them and they would never figure me out. No one could. Don't get me wrong, freshmen can be lots of fun, if you know what I mean, but they're immature, inexperienced and clingy. They could never handle a senior like me. They just don't understand the concept of tap it and scrap it.

I rolled my eyes at all of the underclassmen and walked past them to my locker where I found Dylan and Casella. Casella had her two other friends, Kayden and Elyce with her. We were all pretty close, except for the fact that Kayden and Elyce were both scared of me, still.

Dylan had his arm wrapped around Casella as they leaned against the wall. I stood next to him as the other people walked around the school rushing to talk to their friends before the first bell rang. I rolled my eyes at them. They should know that these friendships aren't going to last forever. Why are they wasting their time?

When the lunch bell rang, I picked my backpack up from the floor and slung in on one shoulder. I got out of the class as quickly as I could. Anatomy was such a boring class. I wasn't going to be a doctor in the future. There was no reason for me to take this class.

I walked down the hall to my locker and put my backpack away. I walked into the cafeteria and to the vending machine where I bought a bag of chips, then walked over to Dylan and some of the girls who were sitting around a table. I sat next to Dylan and looked around the table. I saw Casella and Kayden an Elyce, but they were the only ones I knew. There were three other girls, two of which were keeping to themselves. The third girl sat directly across from me with her head down and covered by her long brown hair.

I looked towards Dylan and gave him a questioning look. He looked up towards the girl and shrugged. I looked back towards her and got her attention. "Hey, what's your name?"

She looked directly at me and her bright green eyes locked on my dull gray ones. I could see her breath hitch as she was under the spot light.

"Oh my bad, Colbie, this is Alex and Dylan. Guys this is Colbie. She's new. She just moved here from a couple towns over. She's a junior like me."

I couldn't stop looking at her. The minute my eyes met hers, I knew where I had seen her before. In the alley two months ago. She was the girl I "saved" from that drunk guy. I saw her scared face again. I saw her nails digging into the brick wall.

"Alex, you got that guy away from her the other night at that party," Casella said. I slowly nodded, not taking my eyes off of her.

She looked towards Casella then looked back down at her lunch and school work in front of her. All throughout the rest of lunch though, I caught her sneaking glances up towards me. We locked eyes once more, but she broke it once again. I was probably too intimidating for her to handle.
