Wanting the Bad Boy - Chapter 29: Count On Me

Alex's POV

After I had slept and sobered up, Dylan brought me back to my truck at my buddy's house. It was still in the lawn where I left it. There was no one else around though. At Dylan's house I had slept for three hours. Then when I woke up he told me everything I said at the party. After hearing it back again, I knew I needed to see Colbie after what I did to her.

I got back in my truck and rushed to the hospital. I had just left her there. She was probably so worried about me. That's just how she was. I totally left her when she needed me the most. I slammed my hands against the steering wheel out  of frustration.

I pulled into the parking lot and parked in the same spot as before. I rushed to her room taking the elevator this time. I was sober, but stair would hurt. Although I deserved the pain that stairs would bring.

The elevator doors opened and I stepped in. There was a mirror on the wall. I looked at my reflection. I looked horrible. My hair was a mess, I looked like I had just rolled out of bed, my clothes were disheveled. I looked like I had been hit by a car, then jumped, then hit by a car again.

I ran my fingers through my hair and tried to make it look better. My eyes were still a little red and they had dark circles bellow them. The three hour passed-out-nap I had was the most sleep I had gotten in the past three days.

I pressed the number two button to bring me to the second floor where Colbie's room was. It seemed like it took hours to travel up one floor, when it really only took a few seconds. I was trying to drag it out longer than it needed to be. I wasn't sure what I was going to say to Colbie. I didn't want to face her. She had every right to be mad at me which she probably was. I messed so much up and I was just so scared. She was probably even more scared. I had no right in leaving her.

The doors opened and I slowly walked down the hall. The nurse from before came out of the room again and looked at me with a smile which slowly faded. "You look even worse than before," she said laughing a bit.

I laughed as well to make it less awkward. I scratched the back of my neck. "It hasn't been my best night."

"She's asking for you again. You'd better go in," she said pointing to the room. I nodded and continued past her.

I stood in the doorway and Casella was next to Colbie. They were both staring at the TV screen across from the bed. I cleared my throat to let them know I was there. Colbie immediately looked to me. I could see her take in a deep breath. She looked sad and relieved at the same time.

I gave her a half smile and walked toward her. She sat up and started to get out of bed, but I hurried toward her so she wouldn't get up. She reached her arms out and wrapped them around my torso. She pressed her head against my chest. "Alex," she whispered, "are you okay?"

I smiled. It's incredible that that's the first thing she asks. "Yes, I'm okay, I'm sorry. I didn't-"

She pulled away from me and placed a finger to my lips to shut me up. Her finger fell down to my chin and her fingers looped around the back of my neck. She stood up and her face was now closer to mine. She looked at my eyes, then down to my lips. She inched closer and closed the gab confidently. She pressed her soft lips against mine and placed her other hand on my chest.

I kissed her back. My hands traced her hips and hooked onto the small of her back. I took in the taste of her lips. She was so precious. So pure. So beautiful. I would never hurt her again.

She pulled away and smiled up at me. "I love you," she said.

My eyes got wide and my jaw dropped. Her smile never wavered. It only got bigger. She knew I was going to tell her before. I smiled back at her. I quickly placed one hand behind each of her ears and pulled her closer to me. I quickly pecked her lips and her cheeks and her nose. "I love you too," I said between kisses. The whole time she was giggling at me. "I love you Colbie Miller," I said just before I kissed her lips one last time.
