Someone burst through my door and slammed in shut, loudly. I groaned and rolled over. No way in hell was I opening my eyes. I heard the sound of my curtains being opened and the bright sunlight penetrated my closed eyelids. I moaned and put my head in the pillow, smiling at the darkness.
"Get up!" They shouted whilst jumping up and down on my bed.
"Sweet Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus! You jumped on my leg you moron," I shouted through my pillow at them.
"Then get up," they jumped off my bed and started to shake me.
I sat up abruptly and gave Lizzie my best glare.
"You wake me up again and I will chew off your fingers so slowly, you're going to wish for a Dementor to give you the Kiss of Death," I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Get. Out. Of. Bed. Now," with each word, she tried to pull me out the bed. On the last word, she succeeded but I ended up falling ontop of Lizzie on the floor. "You are so damn heavy," she groaned and pushed me off from her.
"Yeah!" I folded my arms. "Well...your face is ugly!"
"Ouch," she feigned hurt and touched her heart. "That hurts." She stood up and walked out of the room after saying, "Go to the kitchen, mum wants you."
With a heavy sigh, I got out of bed and walked in the kitchen where I could hear everyone was whispering. They were all crowding round the Island so I peered over their shoulders and saw a half-iced cake reading 'Happy Birt'.
Mum, who was icing the cake, saw me first and wished me happy birthday followed by everyone else. They knew not to hug my since....well, I'm not a fan of physical contact if I'm honest.
"Thanks guys," I gave them a small smile. I hated my birthdays. I hate my parties and surprise birthday parties. I hated the fact that we are celebrating birthday's because it shows me that I'm getting older and that's what I fear the most. Growing old and thinking more about the future than the present and past. I don't mind celebrating other people's birthday but mine...I'd prefer to just skip the whole day.
"You woke me up for my birthday when I think that the best birthday present that anyone could give me is breakfast in bed and a long lie in. It's only eleven and you know that I hate being up before twelve on the weekends!" I shook my head.
"Oh hush up and open your presents," Lizzie ushered me to the front room and near the fireplace was a stack of presents all wrapped in colourful paper, it was a small stack but I didn't really care about the quantity. "Open mine first," Lizzie grinned at me handing me a small, lumpy gift.
I thanked her and slowly ripped the paper off, careful not to damage the goods inside. It was a blue hoody, slowly I opened it and looked at the front. I grinned at Lizzie and tackled her to their ground in a huge bear hug.
Forget physical contact. This was amazing.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" I said quickly. "I love it so much!" I immediately donned on the blue hoody with in white writing 'The Midnight Beast' and rolled up the sleeves up to my elbows like Ash had done in a music video.
"Mine next," John grinned and threw me a small lumpy package.
I unwrapped it a lot quicker than I had done with Lizzie's and in my lap was a black tee shirt and when I unfolded it, in bold white writing was something that made me cry with laughter. I turned it around to show everyone else, the huge smirk still on my face and on the black shirt in bold white writing was 'I'm with stupid' and then an arrow pointing up to the wearing of the shirt. It was so cheesy but that's why I loved it.
