This story is based last year by the way.. so the new year is 2011 not 2012.. just thought I'd clear that up and also dedicated to Sara (CHAMP19NS) because it's her birthday sooo... HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA :D
Last day of the holidays which meant facing school tomorrow which also meant that I had to put a stupid smile on my face and lie to a bunch of people. Christmas was a lot more fun than I had thought it would be. For once I had forgotten about my cancer. I forgot everything and smiled and laughed for the first time in god knows how long.
On Christmas I got a new HTC phone from dad and a total of a hundred pound voucher for River Island and Topman.
John gave me a Doctor Who tardis and a white shirt with a simple black bow tie on it and at the back of the shirt was the text 'Bow ties are cool'
Lizzie also gave me two shirts and a black cardigan. One was a white with black edges at the end of the short sleeves anad the neckline, on the chest of the shirt was the Dark Mark from Harry Potter. The other shirt was also white but it had a low neckline and was sleeveless and it also had relatively large, gaping holes where the arms are supposed to go through. Branded on the top was a large shape was a shape I was all-to-familiar with... the Deathly Hallows.
I had given Lizzie two tickets to see her favorite Dubstep DJ- Skrillex- when he visits Manchester in the summer. She offered to take me because she knew that I too am a fan of Skrillex but I denied her offer and convinced her to give the other ticket to a friend. In addition, I also bought her a iPhone 4S phone case since I knew that dad was getting her one; it had countless of blue diamonds as the background but in silver diamonds arranged in a special way was an elegant 'L' for Lizzie.
For John I had bought him the new Zelda game which he would constantly be on with his XBox along with a Mario and also a Sonic the Hedgehog game. I also bought him a Zelda sword with his name engraved in the handle and just to annoy him, I used his full name which he despises letting anyone know or say: Johnathon Wulfric Alker. When he read the handle he didn't hesitate blushing an embarrassing red and slapping me hard on the back whilst muttering a cuss word directed at me. I know he loved it really. Despite the handle, he kept glancing over at it and adjusting it's position and all the while his eyes shone with delight.
I bought mum a dress she had secretly been admiring. She walked past the dress several times with me and pretended to look at other clothes but I knew that she was looking at the dress secretly with longing etched in every part of her face from her eyes to her lips. It was pretty expensive but I didn't care, her eyes lit up with delight but then a frown creased her forehead so severly I wondered whether it made a permanent mark.
It was a long sleek, strapless dusty yellow dress which reached the floor. A few inches below the bust was a golden coloured ribbon wrapped tightly around emphasising the wearers waist with a small flower. The dress was obviously designed for someone with a slim figure and had no curves, this dress was designed so that it would emphasis any curves that the wearer would have. It wasn't something you would normally see your mother (especially one who was quite curvaceous) in and it wasn't really a party dress, it reminded me of something you would wear at a wedding but who says you can't wear it at a party?
For dad I had bought him a new tie along with silver cuff links and I had also bought him some new shirts that I thought he might like. Nothing special, just something I could see him wearing every-day.
Lizzie and John took their gifts thankfully but, as predicted, mum and dad tried to return the items I had got from them in sly ways but I refused.
After opening presents we all watched the Christmas movies that aired which included: Home Alone, Rat Race and my favorite: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I remembered watching this movie with my dad about a year ago and I distinctly made him promise to buy me a light blue Ford Anglia for my first car. I shook the thought away.
