Chapter 15 - Airports & Mysteries

So today was June 20th you are probably wondering why this date is important well me, Dan and Phil last year got invited to Vidcon! and this is the day we were heading to the airport and going to Anaheim, CA. Our bags were packed we were up and ready to leave, oh did I mention it's like 3am right now yeah we are really tired I don't know how I am managing to keep awake. We called a taxi to take us to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) about 20mins later it pulled up and I put my luggage in the boot when we all had everything in the boot and everyone was sat down and belted up the driver pulled away from the apartment and to the airport!

After about 30mins of driving we could see LHR in front of us I wanted to tell Dan and Phil that we were almost here but they were listening to their music so no point. As we pulled into the pick-up/ drop off bays we saw Alfie and Zoe, I grabbed my case from the back of the taxi and shouted "Alfie! Zoe!!" they realised it was me and started to head towards us. After everything was out of the taxi and the driver had been paid we all headed inside for check in.

We had finally made it through check in and security nobody set the security alarms off apart from Dan who forgot to take his belt off. We were in the Duty free shop and I had everyone's ticket well mine, Phil's and Dan's I was curious where was all sat so I look at it said "Mr P Lester: 5A, Miss P Lester: 5D, Mr D Howell: 5E" wait me and Dan are sitting next to each other? I glanced over and saw Dan walk out of a shop putting a black box into his bag then start to walk towards me I suddenly immersed myself into conversation with Zoe helping her decide which perfume to buy we ended up picking one that smelt like roses. After Zoe had bought it we heard "Attention all passengers boarding the 05:15, BA197 flight to Anaheim, CA is now boarding please make your way to gate 3 for boarding" me and Zoe quickly found Alfie, Dan and Phil and headed to gate 3 where we saw a few other youtubers such as Jack and Dean, Tom (Tomska), Jack and Finn, Chris, PJ, Will Darbyshire and Oli. We joined the back of the queue and had a chat to Oli whilst I handed out the tickets to Dan and Phil.

We were walking down the tunnel to the plane and Dan asked "Bee where are you sat?" I said "urm 5D what about you?" even though I already knew the answer I was obliged to ask he replied with "5E, wait a second we are sat next to each other" I said "well it looks like it" great I have to spend 11hrs next to Dan someone knock me out please! We found our seats and we got told that there was nobody sat either side of us I checked that if I spoke in my normal volume if Phil could hear me but he couldn't and neither could anyone else around me except for Dan damn it! I was slowly having an existential crisis "why was this happening to me? is it fate? Does Dan know?" I got myself that worked up about everything that I almost started to cry but I had to be strong I wasn't ready to confess to Dan so I put my headphones on and started to listen to my music.

We had finally landed in Anaheim, CA and my god it was warm we headed off the plane I am still clueless on how I managed to sit next to Dan for 11 hours, we went through the tunnel once again and followed the signs towards baggage claim. We stood there for about 5mins waiting until the carousel started to move bringing all of our cases mine was easy to spot it was a black case with silver swirls and the luggage tag said "Take My Luggage... Do My Laundry!" and soon enough I saw it. It made its way in front of me then with all my strength I pulled it off  and a few moments after I saw Dan grab his then followed by Phil, we met up with Zoe and Alfie who brought up the idea that we should all get in one taxi and split the cost between us rather than getting multiple taxi's so that is what we did we walked out of the airport and saw a minibus/taxi we all headed to it and Alfie said to the driver "Hilton Hotel please near the Anaheim Convention Centre" he said "sure thing" we all got into the taxi, Zoe and Alfie sat next to each other I sat opposite the empty space Phil sat next to me and Dan who was the last to get in took the empty space in front of me so every time I looked up I'd see him Awkward! I looked at Zoe who looked at me and smiled but she knew I was nervous.

We finally arrived at the hotel I walked up to the desk to check in and it turned out me, Dan and Phil are sharing a 2 room hotel room with a connecting door to both rooms. I was given the keys and was told we was on the 6th floor I thanked her and went to tell the lads the news, we headed into the lift and I asked "which room do you want the left which is 229 or the right which is 230?" they decided to pick 230 I handed them the key and then the lift stopped and opened the doors on our floor we stepped out dragging our luggage behind us now the hunt for our room began.
