The world is harsh, that was what you were taught all your life. You learned how to hide in the shadows and shield your eyes with your (h/c) hair with precision so you wouldn't catch people's eye. It was a lesson that you had taught yourself; after all you were an orphan so there was nobody else to teach you. Even the headmasters at your old orphanage- people who were supposed to help you- abandoned you, in the form of locking you in your room.
"I will never be free." You spat into the darkness. You had no fear of being discovered now; there was nobody around for miles. You had taken up a home in an abandoned shack in the middle of nowhere, with grassy fields surrounding your dwelling. You fingers itched to curl into a fist and take your rage out on dark rotting wood that made up the pitiful excuse for a house. But you knew better even if it didn't.
Anger slapped at the edges of your heart, desperately wanting out. You wished you could escape the rage in your soul, but no matter where you went it eagerly followed. Watching from the corners of your mind, waiting for the moment you would weaken your resolve and let it take control. It was a constant struggle, and you lost many times. Which resulted in minimal human contact, nobody wanted to be near you in fear that you'd hurt them. It only fed the anger; it grew and grew until it became a constant whispering presence in the back of your mind.
The anger was border lining unbearable when an ear bursting roar filled the air. All anger retreated into the recesses of your brain and fear took over. Your body tensed and you became rooted to the spot as your wide (e/c) eyes roamed all around you. Suddenly the roof caved in and a flash of green passed before your eyes. The earth shook and you fell to your back unto the dirty floor. You were too shocked to scream as the gigantic green mass began to move. The massive figure rose with little grace and his head whipped to face you when an involuntarily gasp left your lips.
"Hulk smash!" He thundered before moving about a foot closer to you. His eyes bored into yours and you were sure he could feel the terrified trembles that racked your body. His eyes softened as he reached for you. Your breathing stopped as his beefy green fingers curled around your waist. He lifted you to your feet, but his hand still engulfed your waist.
"Hulk no smash." You declared as you studied the big softie before you. The anger was sticking its head out again, it needn't fear the Hulk. The Hulk blinked in surprise but seeing as you weren't dead yet, you figured he agreed. A grin graced his face before he pulled you flush to his chest. You gaped at the contact and froze immediately; that was the closest thing to a hug you had gotten in a long time.
Your head rested on one of his broad shoulders while the rest of you was crushed between his torso and arm. He let out another roar- this one louder than the others as you ear was next his neck- before standing to his full height and running through one of the shack's walls.
"Put me down!" You shrieked but your screams fell on deaf words and your pounding fists didn't even seem to register with him.
You weren't sure when you passed out; the last thing you remembered was the blurry sight of land and sky rushing by you. A groan brought your sense back to reality and the fact you were laying on your back. The cold metal sent shivers down your spine as you peeked your eyes open. Bright white lights blinded you, but you couldn't move your arms so your hands could help shield your pupils. Thinking your arms broken panic surged through you before you remembered being kidnapped by Hulk- not like that was a good thing either. But the weight on you was much too light to be the ginormous man that stole you.
"Get off me creep!" You screeched while you used your legs to fling the naked man from your body. He woke up instantly, but you were already on your feet. Anger bubbled up and before you could try and shove it back down it took over.
"You have no right to keep me here." You hissed out, anger clouded your thoughts and you paid no heed to the people filing into the room. Bruce stared at you in astonishment, he had no idea what you were talking about but he could feel the blush rising in his cheeks. He grabbed the stretched out material next to him and gathered it around his waist.
"Well are you going to tell me what sick twisted reason you brought me here or shall we just skip to the part where I tear you limb from limb?" You growled out as your right hand pulled a knife from your pocket. The rest of the Avengers quickly moved in and about two seconds later your arms were pinned to your sides by Clint while Natasha took away all weapons from you- one knife, pepper spray, and a pen.
"I'm sorry." Bruce stated quietly still on the floor. His warm eyes met with you (e/c) orbs and you could feel some of your anger melt and allow you to regain your control.
"Me too, I just get so angry." Was your meek reply as your gaze dropped to the floor by your feet. Bruce nodded his head in understanding- not that you saw it- as he motioned for Clint to release you.
"I could teach you how to better control it."
Excitement filled your eyes and your head lifted to smile at the man
"I'd love that."
A couple months past and you were still with the Avengers, when you weren't in your anger management sessions with Bruce you were playing lab monkey to him and Tony.
"Hey, (y/n) go get me some coffee?" Tony demanded once he heard the lab door slid open. You gave a small sigh before twisting on your heel and leaving at once.
"How come you haven't gotten with her yet?" Tony asked just as the doors closed once more.
"W-what; why would I do that?" Bruce managed to get the sentence out with little stuttering but he couldn't stop the blush from forming on his cheeks.
"Oh please, the big green rage monster had to have had a reason to kidnap her. How sad it's the monster that had to find you a girl." Tony teased with a grin as he watched the flustered man from the corner of his eye. Bruce threw himself into his work vigorously in an effort to ignore the man he had to share the lab with. Tony actually took the hint and kept quiet, until you walked through the door.
"Bruce likes you." He declared bluntly after you handed him his coffee.
"What?" You questioned with an utterly confused look on your face. Bruce nearly chocked on his own saliva and a wrench clanged to the floor. Your eyes darted to his flushed face which started a chain reaction as heat began to bloom from your neck.
"He likes you." Tony pronounced each word slowly and carefully while he stood from his seat and with a non-gentle shove sent you flying into Bruce's lap. Your face was full on scarlet matching Bruce's quite well as the two of you just stared at each other. Tony gave his signature smirk before taking his leave.
"I-uh well I actually do." He mumbled just loud enough for you to hear.
"Oh well I kind of like you too."
Bruce's eyes widened slightly but they soon closed as he lifted you head so your lips could get to know his. The anger growled inside you, as it was hoping the man would leave you. It slunk deeper into the darkened corners of your mind waiting for a day you might give in. You may not be free, but at least the shackles were loosened.
