Dear Diary,

Today’s my birthday. I’m officially fourteen. : )

I got clothes, and a new Wii game. It’s called Mario Mixed Sports. It’s so much fun! I also got a box of strawberry short cake dum-dums, and some Avon nail polish. Did I tell you that yesterday, mom took me to the Wal-Mart hair salon (I can’t remember the name) and I got blonde high-lights. : ) I look so pretty!

Dad called me. I didn’t answer. I wrote him a letter a while back, and I’d like for you to read it if you could? Great! Here goes nothin’:

“Dear Dad,

It’s been awhile since I’ve heard from you. I’m almost fourteen.

I’m writing you this letter because it’s so much easier than just telling you things. I won’t get tongue-tied or change my mind. Though you may never see this letter to begin with …

I don’t know what to tell you. I’m a teenager, what more is there to say? I’m sarcastic, emotional, sometimes I’m in a PMS mood. I’m unique in my own way, but I manage to blend in with the crowd.

I’m an author now. I always thought it was just so much easier to just tell people a story, but I’ve now discovered the advantages of writing them out. I put some of them online; to see what others think of my ideas. I’ve gotten tons of positive feedback. If you’re ever wondering what I’ve been writing then you should call sometime.

Well, onto more serious matters: I want you back in my life. But … I want to get help first. Dad, I hate myself for writing this, but you deserve the truth; you’re a drunk. If you keep doing this to yourself than you’ll end up dead. And … I don’t want you to throw your life away like that. No one does.

Love,

Alison

Grandma also called me. We’ve made a date to hang out. : ) I’m really excited for that.

We also had pizza for dinner, and I got a chocolate SpongeBob SquarePants cake.

Love,

Alison
