Dear Diary,

I have just finished one of the busiest weeks of my life. It all started Tuesday, when I went to Shakertown with Grandma, Aunt Kay, and Beau. (I wrote about it in my last diary.) Then I got a break on Wednesday to write about that, only to pick up on Thursday when I went shopping with Grandma for school clothes. I’d love to take a moment, and write about that, but I think I’ll save it for the next paragraph. On Friday, Mom, nana, Sophie, and I went to go visit Grandmother. (Don’t worry; I’ll write about that in a moment, too.) Yesterday, Dad took me shopping for school supplies. Hectic, wasn’t it?

Now, I’ll tell you all about shopping with Grandma last Thursday: We first went to Target to look for school pants. She ended up buying me two black skinny jeans, one demin skinny jeans, three bras (one’s bright blue, another’s grey with thin colored stripes, and a neon pink one), some pajama pants, loads of socks, and … I think that’s it. Then we went to Wal-Mart where she bought me a bottle of water. Next we went to Shaheenah’s (or however it’s spelled) and got three baby-blue uniform shirts. Finally we went to McAlister’s to have lunch before going to her house to see Grandpa.

In this very short paragraph I shall tell you about last Friday. Mom woke me up before six o’clock so that I could get ready to go to Grandmother’s. I was very cranky until we got to Starbucks and I got my chocolate-shake-thing. We also ran into Kroger to get some snacks and breakfast. Fast forward, and we’re at Grandmother’s! She was defiantly a lot skinnier than I remembered. Grandmother talked to Nana and Mom about all our cousins. Later on in the day Joyce came and brought lunch. (I didn’t eat any of it.) Our cousin, Jamie, also came with Joyce and played with Sophie. (She was like six or seven.) After lunch, Joyce showed Mom and Nana some of her quilts.

Once we got home, Mom told me to check my e-mail, and I saw that I had gotten an e-mail from the publishing agency! They want to publish my book! Eep! (This is where I scream at the top of my lungs in excitement.) I can’t wait to go back to school and brag about it!

As I’ve already said before: Yesterday Dad took me shopping for school supplies. What really surprised me was that he hadn’t had a single beer while I was with him. Anyway, he picked me up with Stephanie, Trenton, and Mackenzie in the car. I have never seen “Kenzie” before, and I also hadn’t seen Trenton in two years. (Kenzie will be two in September, and Trenton’s four.) They took me to Meijer’s, bought what we needed, and left. Then they took me Logan’s where Mackenzie threw up in Stephenie’s hand. (Ew!) We ordered our food, and I barely ate anything. Trenton had started warming up to me just before our food came. He had a little train called “Gordon” which he rolled across the table to me, and we made a little game of that until our food came. (Trenton stole Stephanie’s salad.) Next we went to their house, which was absolutely filthy, and I played with Trenton while Kenzie napped. We also watched Rio, during which everyone but me fell asleep. Once Kenzie woke up from her nap, we all went to the park. I had a lot of fun with Trenton and Mackenzie, and would love to see them again.

Today, Mom took me to Sears to get some school pants, but we ended up getting some shorts for school. She also took me to Great Clips, and I got my chin-length bob back.

Tomorrow is Orientation, and I’m hoping to go with Mom. I don’t know what that will be like.

This Thursday, the eleventh, school starts. I’m so excited! We’re supposed to get another girl this year! Her name is Bailey. I also want to tell everyone that I’m going to become a published author.

Right now, though, I just want to relax. After everything that’s been going on this week, I just wanna sleep in, wear my pajamas all day, and focus on my writing. Maybe I’ll even dance around, and sing along to the radio.

I’m sorry, dear friend, but I’ve got no deep thoughts to share with you. My mind has been much too busy with all the tasks at hand.

Oh! I almost forgot! I have to call Jessica back!

’Bye!

Love,

Alison
