Dear Diary,
What is the purpose of a diary? Is it merely a thing to hold secrets that would otherwise ruin your life as you know it? Is it something to merely jot down events like some planner? Or is it just a book to write in?
For me, my diary is something that I couldn’t live without. It holds precious memories, meaningful thoughts, and just an outline of my life as an everyday girl just trying to find her place in history.
I tell you everything, old friend. I trust you more than I trust a lot of people. I’ve grown up with you in my hands.
Not a lot of people have diaries any more. They don’t take the time at the end of the day to put their jumble of thoughts down. I really do think that a diary could help people. It could help them come to realizations that they would’ve never found before. It helps people.
