Chapter Thirty Nine: Decorating

*Maya's P.O.V* 

"How's this look?" Chris asked from the stairs. 

I turned around and smiled when I saw how perfect Chris did the Christmas lights on the stair rail. 

"Perfect" I said as I gave him a double thumbs up making him smile at me. "Now come down here and help me start decorating the tree."

"Yes ma'am" Chris said as he saluted to me before coming down the stairs. 

I laughed at that before hanging the ornaments I had in my hands on the tree. It's two weeks before Christmas and today we're finally decorating. We got our tree yesterday and placed it in a good spot in the living. I'm very excited for this Christmas to come because it's mine and Chris' first Christmas together as a couple. And also because it's Ben's very first Christmas as well. Yay!! And I just hope that it's good and fun for him. 

"Mommy?" Ben said snapping me out of thought. 

I looked down at him but felt my eyes widen a bit when I saw him playing with a glass ornament. 

"No, no, no you can't play with that baby" I said as I lightly took the ornament away from him. But when I did Ben started to cry. However as soon as he did I quickly gave him his favorite teddy bear to play with and he immediately calmed down when I did that and went back to being a happy baby. 

I smiled at that before standing up and going back to decorating the tree. 

"That was close" Chris said as he wrapped his arms around me. 

"I know right" I said as I smiled at him. 

Chris smiled back at me and kissed my lips nice and quick before he started to help me decorate the tree. 

"Are you still shocked that he said his first word?" Chris asked as he looked at Ben and smiled at him. 

"A bit yeah and I'm glad those were his first words" I said with a big smile. 

Chris smiled at me before we both turned our attentions to the front door when we heard doorbell ring. 

"That must be my mom, Scott, Katie, John and Isabella" Chris said with a big smile as he started to walk towards the door. 

"Oh yeah I forgot they were coming over today to help us decorate" I said. 

Chris smiled at me before opening the door to let Lisa, Scott, Katie, John and Isabella in. 

"Who's ready to get this house ready for Christmas?" Scott asked with a big smile as he and everyone walked into the house. 

I laughed at that before picking Ben up and balancing him on my hip. "We are" I said as I held Ben's hand up. 

Scott laughed at that before walking over to me and Ben and giving us a big hug. 

"And who's ready for his first Christmas" Scott asked in a funny voice as he took Ben from me before holding him up in the air. 

Ben giggled at that before smiling at Scott. Scott smiled back at Ben before balancing him on his hip and kissing the top of his head. 

"Why didn't you ask Isabella that Scott?" Katie asked. "It's her first Christmas as well too." 

"And it's also Bella's too" I stated. 

Everyone chuckled at that before Scott turned to Katie and faintly smiled at her. "Sorry K. Is little miss Isabella ready for her first Christmas too?" Scott asked in a funny voice again as he smiled at Isabella.

Isabella made a cute little baby noise at that before smiling at Scott and holding her hands out to him. 

"Looks like someone wants to go to uncle Scott too" Katie said with a big smile as she handed Isabella over to Katie. 

Scott smiled at that before gladly taking Isabella in his arms and kissing her forehead making her smile at him again. 

"I like how the lights look on the stairs" Lisa said smiling as she walked over to me. 

"Agreed" Katie and John said in unison making the rest of laugh a bit. 

"Well you guys can thank Chris for that" I said before me and Lisa hugged each other. 

"Then in that case nice job Chris" Lisa said as she smiled at Chris. 

"Yeah great job mate" John said as he smiled at Chris too. 

"Thanks" Chris said as he smiled back at his mom and John. 

"You're welcome, now let's get this house ready for Christmas" Lisa said with a big smile. 

The rest of us laughed at that before we continued on decorating Chris' and I's house. 

"You think Ben will be able to put the star on top of the tree this year M?" Chris asked as he grabbed the star for the top of the tree. 

"Uh he'll probably drop it, so no not this year but maybe next year he'll be able too" I stated with a faint smile. 

Chris smiled back at me. "Okay, but don't think that's going to stop me from having him help me hang some ornaments on the tree. So come here little buddy" Chris said as he picked Ben up before kissing his forehead making Ben smile at him. 

I smiled at the two of them before continuing to hang ornaments on the tree as well. 

"So Maya are you excited about moving to LA with Chris and Ben?" Scott asked as played with Ben and Isabella. 

"Oh I'm very excited about it" I said with a big smile making Chris smile at me.

Me, Chris and Ben are all moving to LA a few days after Christmas. We're moving to LA so Chris can be there for Cap 2 for when it comes out and for when the press tour starts for it as well and also for when Age of Ultron starts to film. 

As soon as Chris asked me if Ben and I would like to move to him there I immediately said yes because I don't want to be missing him for long months at a time like I did for when he went to go film 'playing it cool.' I also did it for Ben too because he loves Chris and I think he would really miss Chris while he was gone even thought he's still a baby. And I'm actually glad to be going to LA because I've been there a couple of times thanks to Chris inviting me there and I really fell in love with it there. So again very excited about the move. 

"Is your mom and family okay about the move Maya?" Lisa asked. 

"Yeah, they know we aren't going to stay there for forever it's just going to be for a little awhile and we even promised my mom that we would visit as much as we can while we are there" I explained. 

"Which you better keep because you know how mom was when you didn't visit us for a year straight thanks to Parker keeping you away from us so you wouldn't give away his 'little' secret . So you better keep that promise M" Katie warned. 

"Trust me Katie I will, and can you please not mention that bastard's name I hate hearing it" I said as memories of Parker started to come to mind. 

"Sorry M I didn't know that still bothered you" Katie sheepishly said. 

"No it's okay Katie you don't have to be sorry for that, let's just stop talking about him, okay?" I asked with a faint smile. 

"Okay" Katie said smiling back at me before we continued to help everyone decorate the tree.
