Chapter Forty Three: Christmas

The next morning I woke up to Blaze licking my ace and also to Ben lightly hitting my shoulder. I groaned at that before opening my eyes and smiling at the two.

"Mommy!" Ben said as he smiled at me.

"Hi baby, Merry Christmas" I said before kissing his forehead.

"Merry Christmas M" Chris said as he sat back down next to me.

"Merry Christmas" I said as I smiled at him. Chris smiled back at me before planting a soft kiss on my lips. I was about to kiss him back but was stopped but Blaze coming in between us and licking my face.

I couldn't help but laugh at that before lightly pushing Blaze off of me. "And a Merry Christmas to you too Blaze" I said as I held Blaze up and smiled at her. Blaze happily barked at me as she wagged her tail in happiness making me and Chris smile at her.

After I placed Blaze down on the floor I grabbed Ben and balanced him on my hip before me and Chris walked out of my room and then downstairs. When we got downstairs we both smiled nice and big when we saw my family was already up and that Chris' family we already over here as well.

"Merry Christmas sleepy heads!" Madison shouted with a big smile on her face making me and Chris laugh a bit.

"Merry Christmas Madison" I said as me and Chris walked over to the couch to join everyone else.

After me and Chris sat down and wished everyone a Merry Christmas we all started to open up presents. Well it was mostly Ben, my niece and nephews and Chris's nephews who opened up the presents considering they got a lot of them. But the rest of us got presents as well but not as much at the kids did.

"Maya" Chris said with a big smile as he handed me a rectangular present.

I smiled at that before taking hold of the presents and starting to open it. Once I got it open I couldn't help but smile when I saw that it was a scrapbook that had the title 'Our Story' and a picture of me, Chris and Ben on the front of it.

"Did you make this?" I asked as I smiled at him.

"Yep" Chris said with a big smile.

"Thank you it looks beautiful" I said before pecking his lips nice and quick.

"You're welcome, and if you think the front looks beautiful then you should look inside of it" Chris stated.

I smiled at him again before opening the scrapbook up and starting to look through it. As I looked through it I couldn't help but smile at all the pictures in it. The pictures started from when me and Chris were little and as I continued to flip through the scrapbook the pictures showed us getting older. And soon started to show the two of us with Ben when he was first born to now. I smiled at that before turning to the next page. But as soon as I did I frowned and eyebrow in confusion when I saw the next page was blank but had the words 'The next chapter in our lives' written on it.

I looked up at Chris in confusion thanks to that making him smile at me before he got up and cleared his throat.

"Can I have everyones attention for a minute please" Chris said making everyone look at him. Chris smiled at everyone before looking and smiling at me as well. "As you all know I've been in love with Maya for a very long time, and I just want to tell you all how truly in love with her I really am" Chris said making me smile at him.

"When I first saw and meet Maya I couldn't help but think she was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. And thanks to that I feel in love with her. But thanks to me not wanting to ruin our friendship if I told Maya how I felt about her and it she didn't feel same about me I kept my feelings toward her to myself for a long time..." Chris said

"Or for more like 26 years" Scott stated with a light smirk making all of us even Chris laugh a bit.

"Shut up Scott" Chris said with a chuckle in his voice. "Anyway, even though I kept my feelings towards Maya to myself for awhile I didn't let that stop me from becoming her best friend. And that was the best thing I could have done because that let me get to know Maya very well and also to fall for her even more." we all lightly laughed at that making Chris smile at us. "But luckilyI was still able to keep my feelings for her a secret and I'm glad I did because if I told Maya how I felt about her earlier on and she told me she felt the same way about me as well then we wouldn't have gone through that we went through to be together. And if we didn't go through all the stuff we had to go through then Ben wouldn't be here. Ben as we all know is the result of Maya and her ex's relationship ending thanks to him doing something bad that got him thrown in jail. But when I look at Ben I didn't think about that. Instead I think about all the joy and fun he had brought me and Maya since he was born. And Maya I can't thank you enough for letting me help you raise him and be a part of his life" Chris said making me smile at him again.

"And this experience had made me fall in love with you even more Maya. And it's also made me fall in love with you adorable son as well" Chris said as he smiled at Ben.

"And thanks to that I can't imagine my life without you guys. Especially you M. So...." Chris said as he got down on once knee and took out a black leather box before opening it and revealing the most beautiful engagement ring I have ever seen. Me and everyone gasped in shock at that as I covered my mouth in shock at well.

"I knew this was going to happen to soon enough!" Katie shouted making all of us laugh.

"Maya Elizabeth Stevens will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" Chris asked as he smiled at me.

"YES!! YES! A thousand times yes you dork" I said with a big smile. Chris smiled at me before slipping the ring on my finger. I smiled back at him before tackling him to the ground as I started to kiss him causing everyone to laugh and cheer.

Chris smiled against my lips before cupping my face in his hands as he started to kiss me back. We kidded for a few minutes before I pulled away and smiled at him.

"I love you Chris" I said as I placed forehead against his.

"I love you too Maya" Chris said smiling at me as he rubbed his hands up and down my back.

I smiled at him agin before kissing him again as well.

"You guys do remember that we're all still here right?" Scott asked with a smirk making me and Chris pull away from each other.

"Oh be quiet Scott" me and Chris said causing everyone to laugh again.

Scott just stuck his tongue out at us and we both couldn't help but laugh at it. I looked back down at Chris and smiled at him before pecking his lips nice and quick. Chris smiled at me before sitting up and pulling me into a hug. I smiled at that before I started to hug him back.

Best. Christmas. Ever!
