Chapter Forty Two: Christmas Eve

It's the day before Christmas. Or more like Christmas Eve. And I'm so excited! Thanks to it finally being Ben's first Christmas! Yay!

And thanks to it being Ben's first Christmas and also Isabella's and Bella's first Christmas as well me and my sisters have decided to sleepover my mom's house and spend Christmas here. Which I'm very glad about because I love spending Christmas with them.

So now me, Chris, my mom, my sisters, Conner and John are sitting on the couch as we're watching the kids open up the one present they chose to open for tonight. Well me and my sisters chose what Ben, Isabella and Bella would open thanks to them still being babies. But it's still fun to see them open or try to open it because keep in mind they're still babies.

When the kids got their presents open they showed them to us. Lizzie got a beautiful silver heart shaped locket that had a picture of her and her family in it. Zack got a Boston Red Sox's jersey. Bella got a cute Winnie the Pooh blanket. Bella got an Olaf onesie. She's obsessed with Frozen now. And Ben got a Tom Brady Patriots jersey and a soft toy football. I think Chris got those for him.

"Chris?" I asked.

"Yes" Chris said with a big smile on his face as he watched Ben play with his new toy football.

"Did you get those for Ben?" I asked.

"Yep, gotta get him into football and the Patriots at some point" Chris stated as he smiled at me.

I couldn't help but laugh at that before smiling at him. "Dork."

Chris chuckled at that and smiled at me before getting up and walking towards my mom's laundry room.

Why's he going in there?

"Why are you going in the laundry room?" I asked.

"You'll see" Chris said as he smiled at me before walking into the laundry room.

I frowned an eyebrow in confusion before looking at my mom and everyone else. They all just faintly smiled at me as they shrugged their shoulders.

"Maya?" Chris said from behind me making me turn around and face him. And as soon as I did I let out an excited gasp when I saw him holding a white french bulldog puppy with a red bow tied around it's neck.

"Oh my gosh! it's adorable" I said as I walked toward Chris and the puppy.

"I thought Ben would like to have a buddy to play with" Chris said with a big smile as he handed the puppy over to me. I smiled at him before laughing a bit when the puppy started to lick my face.

"Does this little cutie have a name yet?" I asked as I pet the puppy behind his or her ear.

"She does not....I thought I would let you name her" Chris stated as he smiled at me. "So what do you want to name her?"

"Hmm....I think her name should be....Blaze!!" I said with a big smile.

"Blaze?....I like it. Welcome to the family Blaze" Chris said as he petted Blazes head making her bark and wag her tail in happiness. Me and Chris both laughed at that before we walked over to the couch and sat back down on it. And as soon as we sat back down Bailey walked over to us and sniffed at Blaze before licking her meaning that she wanted to play with her.

I smiled at that before before putting Blaze down on the floor and petting Bailey's head making her wag her tail in happiness. Blaze ran around Bailey as she barked or yapped making all of us laugh and smile at the two dogs. Bailey knelt down and sniffed Blaze again before they started to play with each other.

I smiled at that before looking down at my feet when Ben started to play with the zipper on my boots. I smiled at him before taking hold of him and sitting him on my lap.

"Mommy" Ben said as he smiled at me.

"Hi baby" I said before kissing his forehead.

"Do you like your new present buddy?" Chris asked as he tickled Ben underneath his chin. Ben giggled at that before he started to play around with his football.

Me and Chris both smiled at that before I rested my head on Chris' shoulder. Chris kissed my forehead before wrapping my arms around me and pulling me closer to him.

"So Chris are you still surprised that Ben calls you Dada now?" my mom asked as she smiled at us.

"A bit, but I'm glad he wants me to be his dad" Chris said.

"Well I'm glad too because you deserve to be his dad" my mom stated.

"Agreed" my sisters and I said in unison making everybody laugh.

"Thanks guys" Chris said as he smiled at me, my mom and sisters.

"Welcome" we all said in unison again.

Chris smiled at us again before me and him looked down at Ben when he started to giggle. We both smiled when we saw Blaze was licking Ben's face making him giggle uncontrollably.

"Looks like they like each other already" Chris said with a smile in his voice.

"Ya think?" I asked with a light smirk.

Chris chuckled at that before kissing the top of my head as he rubbed his hand up and down my arm as we sat there watching Ben playing with Blaze in enjoyment. We watched there watching that for a while before Ben started to get tired. When Ben started to get tired me and Chris decided it was time to get him to bed and call it a night for us. So after we said goodnight to everyone me and Chris walked upstairs to my room to get Ben ready for bed and ourselves ready for bed as well. And of course Blaze followed us up there.

"You excited for tomorrow M?" Chris asked as he changed into plaid pajama bottoms and a white t-shirt.

"Very" I said with a big smile as I finished putting Ben into his light blue onesie that had snowmen printed onto it.

Chris smiled at me before walking over to me and wrapping his arms around me as he kissed the crock of my neck. I smiled at that before picking Ben.

"Daddy" Ben said as he smiled at Chris.

"Hi buddy, you ready for Christmas tomorrow?" Chris asked as he took Ben from me. Ben smiled at Chris before wrapping his tiny arms around Chris' neck and burying his face into Chris' chest. Chris smiled at that before he started to hug Ben. I smiled at that before I started to get ready for Bed myself.

After I got dressed in grey sweatpants and a red long sleeve shirt me and Chris put Ben in his crib before walking over to my old bed and lying down in it

"I think the last time we were ever in this bed together you were about three months pregnant with Ben" Chris said as he rubbed his hand up and down my back.

"I think you're right" I said as I looked up and smiled at him.

Chris smiled at me before we both got comfortable and let sleep soon consume us.
