Esme's POV
"Esmeralda Sage Knight?" I groaned loudly when I heard my full name.
"It's too early. Come back later." I answered.
"You're mother is here to take you home. Please get your stuff and when you're ready go to the dining hall." The nurse said, walking away.
Cali smiled sadly, "I guess you're leaving now."
"Guess so. I wish I could smuggle you out." I answered, getting out of bed. I'm definitely not gonna miss that bed.
"I weigh too much for that." She said.
I glared at her, "Okay, listen here. You're a stick. You don't weigh too much. I want you to start eating,and yes, I do notice that you eat almost nothing every day. You're gonna start eating and you're gonna get better. Then, you're gonna get out of this hell and now you have someone to turn to when you're out. Me." I said, and her eyes filled up with tears. "And by the way, that means that I'm not gonna try to kill myself again, because now I have to be there for you." That did it. She started crying and hugged me tightly.
"Thank you Esme... Thank you so much..." she said through the tears.
"Esmeralda. It's time to get going." The nurse said.
"I still have two friends to say goodbye to so shut up and give me some time." I answered.
I walked over to Layla's room, "Layla, I'm leaving. I'll miss you." I said. We hugged and she cried and said goodbye. Then, i moved to Joey's room.
"Hey Joey. Sorry we haven't talked much, but I'm leaving and i wanted to say bye." I hugged him too, and then I went into the dining hall.
I saw my mom standing there, and she ran to me. "Esmeralda... I missed you... lets go home." She said. I smiled and nodded.
We were almost out of the dining hall, when i heard someone yell my name. It was Cali. I turned around, and she threw her arms around me.
"Don't forget about me..okay?" She asked.
"I won't. Ever. I'll see you soon." And i hugged her once more, and walked out.
I walked to the car, and then I remembered something. I went to the store, and then went back to the asylum. I asked to visit Cali, and when she saw me, she laughed.
"Miss me already?" She asked.
"Of course. I brought you something."
Then, i handed it to her. Her smile was the biggest I've ever seen.
"Ice cream!!"
