Its been 4 weeks since I came to the asylum. Mason hasn't visited me once. He's such a douchebag. He sends me to this place, but he doesn't have the courtesy to visit me.

I've been doing very well without him though. I've made friends, I always take my pills, and I always follow directions. I think because of my good behavior that they might let me out early. I don't want to leave though, I finally found a place where i fit in, and I'm not just going to give that up.

"Hey Esme" Cali said as she sat next to me, "You looked like you were in a deep thought, so I just had to interrupt."

I smiled, "Nah, don't worry about it. I was just thinking, maybe I should just stay here for the rest of my life."

She looked so shocked, and kind of upset. "Don't you even think that. This place is hell, you're just high on those weird meds."

"What? What do you mean?" I asked.

She laughed like i was an idiot. "You'll learn soon enough." And she walked away.

I sat there for a while until Layla sat next to me. "What's up? Cali said that they were giving you way too many medications. She seemed pretty pissed" Layla said as she picked at her bad cafeteria meatloaf.

" I just said that I wanted to stay here. I like it here." I answered.

"Oh fuck. You said that to Cali?? Oh fuck, Esme. You can't say that to her. She's never getting out. Ever. Cali has some really severe depression, and this place is going to make her stay until she's happy. That's never going to happen. But now all and wants is to get out and see her sister. She's not allowed to have visitors, so she hasn't seen her little sister in 2 years."

I was so confused, but i decided that i had to go apologize to Cali. I found her in her room, and one of the nurses let me in. She was crying. I sat down next to her and hugged her softly. She laid down in my lap and sobbed. "I'm sorry." I said.

"I forgive you" she cried, "Just do me a favor and get out of here as soon as you can, you have a life to live."

I said nothing, and she just laid on me in silence until it was time for me to leave. She hugged me again before I left, and then I went into my room.

She sang even louder than usual that night.
