Cali's POV
"Esme!!!" I yelled as i saw her approach me. She was wearing one of those visitor stickers, and a backpack.

"Cali!! Sorry I'm late, i had schoolwork. How are you?" She asked, hugging me.

"I'm fine. Our room has been so quiet since you left." I answered.

She smiled, "Well I'm here now." And we walked back to our room. She sat next to me on the floor.

"So, what have I missed?" She asked.

"Oh nothing much. Gross food. Layla flirting with a new guy. Joey sulking in his corner."

"Ooh a new guy! Is he cute?" She asked. Oh Jesus Christ. I felt like I was looking at some preppy cheerleader.

"Uh yeah I guess. He's not really into her though." I said, looking at my shoes.

"Seriously? Huh. Wait... You??" Aw shit. This girl knew me too well. I nodded and she squealed.

"Tell me EVERYTHING." She said.

And there it is. I knew it would happen, but i thought it would take longer. She's acting like a normal teenager. Its really sad, but it happens a lot. We change ourselves to fit in. Why? So none of us will have to be the outcast. But its different for people like me and Esme, we're naturally the outcast, and now she's just lying to herself.

"Lets talk about something else..." I said, trying to change the subject. She shrugged, and i asked, "How's school going?"

"Fine. I'm loving my classes. I got into advanced art, and Its amazing." She answered.

"Oh that's great.." I sighed a little. Like i said, she's changing.

She's a terrible artist.
