Cali's POV

JESUS CHRIST, I GET IT ALREADY. IF I'M RUDE, I'M GONNA GET INTO TROUBLE. GOT IT. MOVE ON ALREADY LADY, WE'VE GONE OVER THIS 4 TIMES. God these people are annoying. I considered giving up and leaving it to the authorities, but I decided against it. I was trying my best to not punch the receptionist, but holy shit its hard. Then, I got a call from Joey.

"Hey Jo, what's up?" I asked, thankful for a reason to get away from the receptionist.

"You got time for a funeral?" He asked sadly.

When he explained what happened, I was engulfed in rage. After the funeral, I was going to kill Mason. I called Officer Collins and he gave me a ride to the cemetery, despite the receptionist's wishes.

Esme could barely stand up, she was sobbing so hard. Layla and Joey were holding on to her with their lives, and when they saw me, they ran to me and embraced me.

"Thank god you're here." Esme sobbed into my shoulder.

I hugged her tightly, "It's gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay, and so is the little cutie in your belly. We are going to protect him with all of our lives, right guys?"

Joey and Layla nodded, and the funeral started. It was a closed casket. And then when I heard her name, I wanted to die.

The pastor said, "Bailey Calliope Knight didn't get to experience the life she should've. She was taken from this world before she had her chance at life. She is an angel that had to head back to heaven early. But we know that she and our father, God, will be watching over Ms. Knight and her baby boy. May God accept Bailey into his kingdom of heaven and give her another chance. Now, we pray..." I stopped listening after that. I think everything he said was shit. If God was watching over us, that wouldn't have happened. But, I didn't say anything. Some things are more important than my personal opinion. This is one of those times.

When the casket was buried we all cried. I got up, put down the bouquet of magnolia flowers I brought, and sat next to the tombstone. Esme, Layla, and Joey followed me and we all held each other's hands. I thought that I should say something, so I put my hand on the soil and said, "Bye Bailey. Auntie Cali is gonna miss you, and I hope I get to meet you someday.." I was going to say more, but I just couldn't. I was crying too hard.

After the funeral, I had to go back to the foster home. It took all of my strength to walk away from Esme, Layla, Joey, and the baby, but I had to. I had to be there for Addy, and they understood.

When I got back, it was very loud and rambunctious.

"What's going on? " I asked one of the kids.

She grinned at me, "One of the girls that went missing is back! She's finally home!"

I gasped, "Addison?" And I pushed through the crowd, only to find a 15 year old girl that looked scared out of her wits.

Once all the people scattered away, I grabbed the girl and ran into the nursery.

"Where's Addison???" I asked.

She furrowed her eyebrows, "Who's asking? Who are you? And don't touch me, I've had plenty of that already." She answered glancing around the room.

I sighed, "I'm her sister, Cali. I'm here to find out where she is and what happened. And do me a favor, if you're smart you won't give me attitude. I'm legally psychotic so you really should watch what you say around me."

K so I was a little harsh. Oh well. The girl sighed in return, and said, "Well you need me to find her so I suggest you give me the same courtesy. I know exactly where she is. We escaped, but she fell. She was the one Fredrick wanted so they let me go free. Or, they stopped chasing me. But we have to work fast, the people there are brutal. They won't hesitate to kill her. But... first they're gonna sexually abuse her until she gives up."

"Fuck no..." I whispered. "Not my little sister. She's only 13!"

I immediately called Collins again and he couldn't be happier for all this information, "Girls, this means that we can get her and she'll be okay. She'll be scarred and hateful, but breathing. We're going to find her."

We all headed down to the station so Sophie, the girl, could give her testimony.

I sat in the office and couldn't stop shaking. It was a mixture of nerves and anticipation.

Then, I looked in the cell across from me.

Mason.

Now, I was shaking with rage. "Mason." I practically growled.

He blinked a few times and scooted back into his cell, "Shit. What do you want Cali? Can't I rot here in peace?"

I lost all my humanity the second I saw him. I grabbed onto the cell, "I can make that happen faster." I hissed. He backed up into the wall.

"I just pushed Esme. What even happened? Is she dead or something?" He asked, stupidly.

I let go of the cell and took a deep breath, "No. You killed your daughter. SHE'S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU. SHE'S DEAD. BAILEY IS DEAD BECAUSE OF HER OWN PIECE OF TRASH FATHER." I screamed.

He gasped, "Wait, my daughter is dead? How did that happen?? I didn't mean to hurt anyone, I just wanted to talk----" I interrupted him.

"No. You shut your mouth right there. You raped Esme and left her there to rot. Then you get her pregnant. Then you murdered her daughter. You hurt more than one person. And I'm going to kill you. But much more brutally. Mind you, you're talking to a psychopath. And you fucked with the wrong girl. Literally. You're going to die, but it's going to be painful and you're going to be dead inside long before your heart stops." I threatened.

Officer Collins came in and so did Sophie. I could tell by the look on their faces that they heard what I said.

"Um, Cali. Let's go." Collins ordered, and I nodded and let them walk out the door.

I turned around to look at Mason, and I said, "Enjoy your life while you still have it. You never know when it can be taken away from you. Bailey didn't know either." And I walked out.

A whole police squad went out on the search, but it was almost 3 hours away. rode with Collins and Sophie. Sophie asked, "So what the fuck was that about??"

I crossed my arms over my stomach looked at her, "He raped my best friend and killed their unborn daughter. He deserves to die. "

Her eyes widened and she nodded, "That's awful. You're right."

I looked at Collins, and he shook his head. "I'm sorry for the baby and the mother, but no one deserves to die."

I looked outside and sighed, "I beg to differ."
