Cali's POV
"COLLINS CAN YOU DRIVE ANY FUCKING SLOWER, I DON'T WANT THAT OLD LADY TO FEEL BAD." I screamed sarcastically, trying to stay calm. Obviously, that wasn't working out too well. Well, Collins was driving like a blind person, and believe me I don't have anything against blind people, its just I would prefer him driving faster since my little sister's life is on the line.
"Cali, calm down right now. I can't focus on the road with you screaming at me like a maniac." Collins answered, anxiously.
"Well that's what you get for letting a psychopath in your car. Get used to it." I snarled.
He glared at me, "If I was your dad, I would've slapped you right then."
"Well I don't have a dad, so that doesn't affect me."
He was silent, then he said, "I'm sorry. You know I didn't mean it like that."
I took a deep breath, "Just keep driving." I mumbled. Talking about my dad? Never a good idea. Never. Not the best subject for me.
"Sooo how far away is your house?" Sophie asked me.
I jumped a little, I completely forgot that she was there. Oops. "Few miles. And it's not my house. It hasn't been my house for years."
She nodded and went back to her book. I started shaking and biting my nails nervously. Me and my awful habits.
"Turn here." I said to Collins and he nodded.
I shook my head as we pulled into that goddamn driveway. Not my favorite thing to see. Too many memories.
I held back the urge to puke and run away, and I got out of the car silently and went over to Collins's door.
I held my hand out, "Give me a gun."
He shook his head, "I can't Cali."
I rolled my eyes, "Shut the fuck up. Your wife and children are expecting you to come home tonight. The only person that's counting on me is stuck in there, probably being beaten or worse. Give me a gun."
He hesitated, then handed me a loaded gun. "Be careful. I'll back you up."
I nodded and walked around to the back of the house. I checked to see if the window I used to sneak out of was open. Thank God. It was.
I climbed in the window and looked around my room. Same as always. I looked outside and didn't see anyone, so I stepped out cautiously.
Then I heard the screaming.
