Addison's POV
After the last beating, I couldn't move a muscle. I'm sure they broke a few bones. Luckily, Sophie got it easier than I did, which was good because she's not used to being beaten.
"You okay Addison?" She mumbled quietly.
I sighed, "No. You?"
"I'm just peachy, thanks for asking." She answered sarcastically. I smiled a little, grateful that she wasn't crying yet. I hate it when people cry in front of me, because then I feel really bad and I know there's nothing I can do.
"I don't know how much longer I can take this. I can barely move." I said, wishing I had some bandaids, at least.
"I know, I'm sorry. But it'll be okay though, they haven't started... You know.. yet, so we'll be okay. And we're getting out tonight."
I nodded, "Yeah, and then we'll be okay. I'm gonna go straight to see my sister, Cali. She's probably so worried about me, she probably thinks that I ran off because I hated fostercare so much."
Sophie sighed sadly, "I don't have anyone to go see."
My heart broke for her. After all this shit that we've been through, she has no place to call home or a family. "You can come see Cali with me. Just a warning though, she's in a a mental hospital."
"Wait WHAT? Why??"
I smiled, I liked talking about Cali, it made me feel more positive. That was ironic, my suicidal sister made me feel optimistic. "Well you already know my mom was psychotic and she used to beat Cali really badly. One day I guess she couldn't take it anymore and she tried to kill herself. She's been in the mental hospital ever since."
"Damn. Your family is seriously messed." She answered. I laughed a little, she was right.
Then, someone came in with our food, and it was time. Time to get out of here once and for all. I used all the strength i had left ti get up and hit the man with the chair still tied to me. Sophie got the chair off of both of us and we wiggled out of the wire. Those dumbasses hadn't tied us tight enough.
We ran as fast as we could, but I was limping pretty badly, so and got ahead of me. I heard the man running right behind me, so I ignored the pain and kept running.
Then I tripped on a rock, and they got me. "KEEP RUNNING SOPHIE. TELL CALI----" I screamed, but they covered my mouth. I tried to get away, but I was stuck and I couldn't get loose.
Sophie looked back and gasped, but she kept running. Good. They stopped chasing her, and they dragged me back to where we were kept before. Fred came in and sat down next to me, "Are you happy now? Now you're alone, and you're gonna die alone."
I smirked, "I'm not gonna die. Thanks for the concern though."
He smiled meanly, "Well, since we're torturing you in the worst possible ways tomorrow, you're gonna wish you were dead. You'll welcome death like a friend." He growled. And with that, he walked out and slammed the door.
I started to get nervous. What if they don't find me? No, never mind. Cali will find me in time, and we'll be okay.
We'll be okay, right?
