Layla's POV
Why do people pity us schizophrenics? We're just like everyone else. Well... nevermind... but most of us are pretty normal. I mean, except for the constant conversations with people in my head... Yeah, we're definitely normal.Layla.
Layla.
Layla.
What is up with you guys. You don't have to repeat yourselves, i hear you just fine.
Cali.
Cali.
Cali.
Cali.
Cali.
Okay i got it. Cali. What about her?
Trouble. Big trouble.
Did you guys ever learn about complete sentences? Jesus. Okay, Cali is in big trouble, as usual. Care to explain?
Trouble.
You're so helpful. Go away.Thank god, that shut them up. I got up and i walked to Cali's room. She was probably fine, but i had to check, just in case.
"Cal? You okay?" I said, walking in. She was curled up in a ball on the floor. "Jesus Christ, what's wrong with you?" I asked, sitting down next to her. Not the most sympathetic thing i could've said, but it was the heat of the moment.
"Cafeteria. Didn't you hear?" She mumbled, not looking at me.
"Nah girl, i left to go to the bathroom and everyone was gone. What happened? Did Joey hit on that Security Guard again? I told him he needed to stop that.." i answered.
"I wish. Esme and i got into a big fight. She got pissed and ran out, and told me that she gave up on me."
Oh God, my heart broke for Cali. She didn't deserve that. After all that she's been through, you'd think people would give her a break. Nope.
"Oh hon. Come here." I said, holding my arms open.
She crawled over to me and hugged me. Her cheeks had tear marks all over them, and in all honesty, she looked dreadful. And holy shit she was skinny! I made a mental note to talk to her about that later.
She sat on my lap and cried into my shoulder. "Why do i scare everyone away, Layla?"
I hugged her tightly, "Hey, me and Joey are still here. We're not that easy to get rid of. And probably because you're too good for those douchebags, including Esme." I answered. Sorry Esme. You're a douchebag for making Cali cry.
She smiled a little, "Thanks. I feel like shit though."
"Well, if it makes you feel better, you look like shit too." Oops. Sympathy Layla!!!
She smiled more, "That definitely doesn't make me feel better."
"Then why are you smiling, stupid?" I asked.
She laughed, "Because you're funny."
"Yeah yeah. If you want to smile even more, I recommend we go watch Joey flirt with the security guard. That shit is entertaining." I said, laughing and helping her up. She nodded so we walked to the Main Hall where the hot security guard, that Joey had a huge crush, on was working.
Joey had already beat us there. When we got there, he was commenting on the man's nice ass.
"Oh my god Joey..." I whispered.
"Well, he does have a nice ass." Cali said, giggling. I smacked her on the forehead.
"Don't talk about his ass Cali! You're too innocent."
"Well... its the truth..."
Yeah. It kinda was the truth. He definitely had a nice ass. Joey had good taste in guys.
We hung out there and stalked them for a while until Joey noticed and told us to, and I quote, "fuck off you creepy bitches". We ran away giggling and he chased us away.
See, you can be normal when you're in an asylum. Just less normal than most people are.
