Chapter 49

"I'm so happy you're concerned you might lose me. Let's answer the call together," sabi ni Dan. Sinagot nya ang tawag. It's on speakerphone. "Dan and Liana here Liv. What's up?"

There was silence on the other line. "Dan-iel?" Liv then said after several seconds.

"Yes Liv. Nandito ako sa Macau. Nanunundo ako ng mapapangasawa. Liana's here. Say hi Love," sabi ni Dan.

"Hey Liv," bati ko.

"Hi," sabi nya. "Wait, I'm confused eh. I called to tell you that Say's pregnant with Kearn's kid tapos... kayo na? So... si Phil?"

"He's willing to be the father of Kearn's kid Liv. Say and Phil are going to be parents," sabi ko. "And he's been loving Say all this time so I guess it's okay."

"Ah okay," sabi nya processing everything. "Wow, okay."

"How are you though? How are you taking all this?" ako na ang nagtanong. "Have you spoken to Kearn?"

"Hindi pa eh," suminghot sya. "I'm pregnant din kasi," she said.

"What?!" sabay naming nasigaw ni Dan.

"Oo! Two months," she said and then we heard her bawl.

Nagkatinginan kami ni Dan. "Oh. Eh you have Kearn naman diba? Does he know na?" I asked.

"Not yet! Yung anak nya pa lang kay Say ang alam nya! Kasi naman! What if, what if..."

"Walang what ifs Olivia. Go ask Kearn how he feels about his kid with Say and tell him about yours too. Go, do it. This is a wonderful thing Liv. Don't think otherwise okay?" sabi ni Dan in his commanding but soothing voice.

"Don't stress yourself Liv. The way I see it, is that we will have lots of babies soon," I said, excited for her and wanting her to see the good side of her and Say's situation.

"Uwi na kayo dito! I need hugs," ngawa ni Liv. "How will I tell Mom Dan? Magagalit na naman yun!"

We spent another fifteen minutes consoling a very emotional and pregnant Liv. After that call, tumawag naman si Dan kay Kearn.

"Hey sperm boy," sabi ni Dan sa phone. "Do you know what's happening? Yes. Say. And Liv. Yeah! Yeah man! Daddyng daddy ka na. Dalawa agad! Halos sabay pa. If malaman mo when Liv tells you, you have to jump up and down. Good, good. Okay. Yeah. Okay, okay. Bye." He then cut the call.

"All's well?" tanong ko.

"Kearn's in shock but happy. He couldn't believe he's cooking up two but he's glad."

I resigned from my work in Macau not because Dan wanted me to pero kasi gusto ko nang bumalik sa dati kong trabaho. I thrive in Management and I knew that's where I need to be. Secondary ang makauwi sa Pilipinas to have a normal life again in Manila with Papa and sila Tita Tess. I miss them at alam kong ideally dapat kasama ako lagi ni Papa dahil na rin sa sakit nya. And finally, of course, to have a life with Dan, my Dan now. Everything worked out. Marami pang mga magiging problema pero okay na, kasi okay na kami ni Dan.

Nagulat si Papa sa mga changes sa buhay ko pero he was supportive in the end. Natagalan pa sya sa pag-proseso nung una ng mga nangyayari at hindi nya pa alam nun kung kagagalitan nya ako o matutuwa sya para sa'kin pero he came 'round to everything. Matagal silang nag-usap ni Dan sa phone tungkol sa mga plano namin, tungkol sa pamilya nila at tungkol sa plano naming mag-sama and then magpakasal at mag-asawa. Nang nakauwi na kami ng Pilipinas, nag-part two pa ang usapang yun.

Dan's family was very receptive and warm. They were nicer than him which was a huge relief. His sisters were the best. May mga family na ang mga kapatid nya and they had loads of tips for our relationship and also stories about how rowdy Dan was as a kid.
