When we woke up the next morning, wala na sina Dan. Malinis na rin ang area malapit sa pinto kung saan sila napahiga ng babaeng kasama nya. Pati ang kama sa kabilang kwarto kung nasaan sila several hours ago, maayos.

"At least he cleaned up," sabi ni Phil looking around the house.

"You know it's Dan? Malay mo yung babae yung naglinis," sabi ko.

"Dan's a neat freak like me," sabi nya. "We always clean up after Kearn and Ted who were always puking around when we drink. I'm surprised you didn't know that he's a neat freak."

Eh kasi, saglit lang na naging kami. Pero napansin ko naman yun, sa bahay nya, sa office nya.

I don't know Dan that long. But why does it feel like I've known him all my life? Kahit saglit lang na naging kami?

"Ah oo nga pala. You guys weren't together long. Saglit lang kayo diba?" basa ni Phil ng utak ko. "You were together for less than a week before you left him to go to Macau right?"

Oo. Ipaalala bang iniwan ko sya?

"Right?" ulit nya dahil hindi ako sumagot.

"Ah, oo," sagot ko. Ulitin ba?

Tumango-tango si Phil. "And then nagkita kayo a total of three days in Hongkong," dagdag ni Phil.

What's happening? Minamaliit nya ba ang naging relasyon namin? O ang pagkakakilala ko sa kanya? Dan and I had a real connection. Short and brief but honest. And we both loved each other.

Pero totoo. Saglit lang ang lahat. I've known Phil longer now.

"Bear?" tawag nya sa'kin. He was calling out from the kitchen.

"Yes?"

"C'mere," sabi nya.

Sinundan ko si Phil sa kusina. I saw him with a cake. It was shaped like the number one.

"Happy one month!" bati nya. He kissed me on the cheek. He was happy and proud.

The point was one month na kami. Dan and I? Way less than that.

I smiled. "Kala mo I forgot? May gift din ako sa'yo," sabi ko. "Mamaya sa party, ibibigay ko."

"May gift ka pa? You already gave me the best gift earlier," lapit at halik nya sa'kin. Ipinulupot nya ang kamay at braso nya sa baywang ko. "I never knew you could be that hot Bear. You were unbelievably wild. Dapat ata laging may tao around whenever we're doing it para mas ganahan ka."

Napangiti na lang ako. I rested my face on his chest. "I'm happy," I said... or convinced him.

I'm happy Bear, with you. I just wish Dan would be happy too.

I thought sila pa ni Lovely. Why is he back to having casual sex? O baka seryoso yun pero lasing lang sila?

Who am I kidding? That's not serious.

"Bear?" tawag nya sa'kin.

"Hmmn," I responded as I had placed myself in his chest, permanent in his embrace.

"I'm thinking of cancelling Dan's invite to your party later. With the way he behaved last night. I don't think-"

"He's invited?" gulat kong tanong.

"Yeah, well... I wouldn't tell you now who's going to be there later, 'cause Bear, it's still a surprise," ngiti nya.

"Si Dan? Andun dapat?" ulit ko.

"I know he's your ex but he's one of my bestfriends. And we should all be okay now. Sabi rin kasi ni mommy dapat okay na kaming lahat, forgive each other, et cetera. Kearn's with Liv now, Dan's well, probably having issues with Lovely with what happened last night, him with another girl, at tayo naman we're very happy."
