When I woke up, I felt like my body had been crushed between two semi trucks.
I looked over to the window and noticed it was pitch black outside.
How long have I been asleep?
Looking around the room, I expected to be met with pale brown bedroom eyes, but they were nowhere in sight.
I slid out of the golden sheets, glancing over at the alarm clock that sat on the nightstand.
2:37 AM.
Damn, no wonder why I feel groggy. I should still be sleeping.
But no matter how bad the urge to crawl back into his enormous bed was, the urge to find where those pale eyes might be lurking was much stronger.
I wrapped his gold duvet around my body, noting that I was still only in his shirt.
The room light was off, but the lighting of the moon as it peered through the windows was enough to see.
I slowly opened the door, glad when I didn't hear it creak, and stealthily made my way down the hall.
I looked left and right, up and down, and all around for exotic eyes, but I had to admit.. hide and seek was definitely in his forte.
When I finally got lost in his humongous house, that's when I realized just how big it was.
I was finally about to give up and try to back track my steps, when I found myself coming towards a door that was different from the rest and open.
I slowed my pace and kept my ears alert. When I reached the door, I could hear Grey's voice, low yet assertive.
I was going to show my own way in, until I heard another voice.
"So that's what you've been up to all week? I have to say, as you're Beta, you don't really keep me in the loop much."
"It's been a.. hurricane of a week."
Supernova, I'm sure that's what you wanted to say wolf boy.
I smiled inwardly.
"I'm still not sure how he know's about her."
Her?
"I sure's hell have a clue."
"By all means, shoot. Because I have no fucking clue what's happening here." I could hear the other person plop down on a chair of some sort, maybe a couch.
"An unfamiliar wolf, he's been sneaking his egocentric ass around here and fucking with her. I want to send in the CU-Crew."
What the hell is that?
"Already? Man, she must be something if you're already throwing the dogs out for her. You didn't even do that for- ..I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have."
It grew silent between them.
"Alpha-"
"When you leave here, round up the CU-Crew. We don't have time to waste, I think he'll hurt her the next time. He's already sent a friend of his in and got him killed."
I inched away in disbelief by his words. He'd told me that if I was with him, trouble wouldn't follow me anymore.
But dammit, I knew better.
I mentally cursed myself when I decided to step on a part of the floor that creaked, and out of all times now.
I held my breath waiting for him to bust me out. But it was only silent for less than a second, before they continued their conversation.
