Nova's POV
I woke up in the windowed room of the packhouse, one of Grey's white tees and a pair of sweatpants hung loosely from my frame as I sat up.
"Grey?" I called, but no answer.
I got up, finding my way to our bedroom only to find it was still a mess and Grey-less.
I stood in the doorway for a moment, before turning on my heel to make my way to his study.
Still, no Grey.
Where the hell could he be?
I sat behind his desk, crossing my legs and setting my hand down on his desk only to press a button that beeped when I hit it.
I jumped back, the chair's wheels rolling me a few inches away from the desk. Muffled voices spilled over an intercom that was buried under files of papers.
I could hear Grey's voice clearly on the other end of it, as I moved the files aside.
"How do you know about her?"
"I don't want to answer anything without her here, if I must answer anything at all. No disrespect to you, Alpha Krem."
I could hear Grey huff, his impatience getting the better of him. I knew Grey, if I didn't find him soon, the young boy would be thrown in the chambers.
And I definitely didn't want to go back down there, not since the meeting with Liam, Titus' now dead brother. Thanks to my boyfriend.
My heart panged.
I got up, pacing the room in a panic.
Not in our room, his study, or the chambers. Where else would he take a wolf in trouble and in need of a good interrogation session?
I dashed out of the door.
The punish room.
Just when I made it to the door, Grey was standing up, his face not the most pleasant I've seen it.
"Pet? You're awake."
I was about to say something, but those blue eyes staring at me in my peripheral got the better of me. I couldn't help but to stare at the boy instead.
"I'm glad you're okay." The boy said.
That.. that accent. His eyes. The.. the look. This can't be..
"What's you're name?" I asked, my voice a lot smaller than I'd hoped. I could feel Grey's uneasiness as I crossed the room to take a seat adjacent to the boy.
"Caustine, but those who know me call me Tino."
"Well, Tino-"
Grey cut me off, "We don't know you, Caustine. Who are your Primes?"
"Please, allow your Luna to question me. It is the way it's suppose to be."
"Riddle guy, huh?" Grey punched the palm of his hand, "I don't have patience for those type. Come to think of it, I don't have much patience at all."
I narrowed my eyes at him. He rolled his and sat back down.
I wanted to tease him with a who's whose pet now joke, but it clearly wasn't the time for that.
I turned my attention back to Caustine.
"Why are you here, Caustine?"
"When I was first told about you, I.. didn't believe it. So I came to see for myself. But then, I saw you and-and I couldn't stop coming back."
