The pack checked in with Grey and he made sure to keep me at a distance from them while in my wolf form.
Not really sure for his reasoning, but a part of me was thankful.
I didn't feel ready to be introduced to them like this, especially when I hadn't been properly introduced to all of them in the first place.
The only three I didn't mind that he let linger around was Lynn, Audri, and Kale.
They roamed around, giving Grey and I our space after confirming there seemed to be no immediate threat in the area.
'How do you feel?' Grey's voice washed over my mind.
'Like running.' I sat down, trying to resist the urge, 'I don't know what it is.'
He tilted his head, looking at me with those watchful, exotic eyes of his. They were even more mesmerizing in his wolf form, they stood out more.
'What is it, pet? What's wrong? I can feel you hiding something away, it's like I'm keeping a secret that I don't even know.'
Merde. Our bond's that strong?
'This feeling.. to run.. I think it's drawing me somewhere.'
'It's?' He repeated.
'I don't know. My body, maybe? But it's something. I can feel it. I just don't know what it is, but I know that.. if I follow it.. it'll lead me somewhere.'
Grey looked at me for a moment longer before turning to trot off, further away from the group. He turned his head back, nodding for me to follow along.
When we were out of eyesight, and most likely earshot, of the others he shifted back on two legs.
"Concentrate, Nova. Remember what it's like being on just your hind legs. How the earth felt on your bare feet. Picture yourself, picture me holding you like this."
Grey approached me, wrapping one arm around my neck and the other down along my side.
"Close your eyes, pet."
I did, picturing myself being in Grey's strong arms. Remembering how they held my legs and supported my back, as he carried me away to make love to me.
I opened my eyes, feeling Grey's naked body against my own.
"That's my girl."
I smiled, tilting my head up to find his lips, happy when he didn't hesitate to lean into mine and kiss me back.
"Why did we go away from the others?" I asked after pulling away.
"Because, I didn't want them overhearing anything they didn't need to know right now."
I gave him a quizzical look.
"You're not that great at the mind link yet. Some things you've said they've picked up on, that's why I didn't bring the rest of the pack around you. I didn't want them caught off guard by any of your thoughts, or vice versa."
"Vice versa?"
"You're the rightful Luna of the pack. And now that you've accepted that title, you're able to open anyone's thoughts up that's in our pack whenever you please. The exceptions being the Primes, or past Primes of the pack of course."
"But you pick around in my head whenever you want."
"No, sweetheart, I don't. Your thoughts are always so loud, sometimes I feel like they're forcing themselves on me. I told you, you suck at controlling the mind link." He chuckled.
