8. Final Touch Ups Before the Audition

Darlyn woke up one day looking towards her calender; she realized that today was the last to prepare for the big day. She quickly got up, took a shower, got ready for school, ate breakfast, and then quickly left. As she arrived, she bumped into Alfonso. "Hey babe, why the rush?"

"Hey, tomorrow is the audition. And I really have to perfect this!"

"Calm down babe. What you need to do is relax and hope that everything goes well."

"No I can't hope. I have to make it happen." And then she walked past him and headed straight to her choir teacher's class. After singing the song fully, she stopped for a moment. "How was that Mrs. Ledet?"

"That was great. I love how you sound powerful and youthful at the same time."

"Thanks. But I feel like I still need to perfect on some of the notes."

"Look Darlyn, you can never be fully ready. All you can do is practice and then just do your best when the time comes."

"I know, but I really, really want this."

"Relax, I suggest that you practice one more time and then rest your voice until tomorrow. The last thing you want is for your voice to get lost during the song."

"You're right, that is definitely the worst nightmare ever." Then she went off through the day trying to perfect her moves. "She did say to stop singing, but she didn't say that I couldn't dance." So she went on and practiced throughout the day. By night-time she was super soar and couldn't feel her whole body. "Man I shouldn't have done this. I guess I'll go take a nice bath and relax before I go to bed." And off she went. She even mediated for a while, hoping that it would help her calm down and be mentally ready for tomorrows big day.

She then put on her pajamas and prayed before the stars. "Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight... Hello beautiful stars. I really wish that tomorrow goes great for me. Even if I don't win the audition, I hope that there are other auditions that you could find for me. Also, thanks for letting me meet Logan in my destiny, he's a really sweet guy and I love having him as a friend and part of my life. Goodnight stars, and wish me luck tomorrow." And off she went to bed. Little did she know that her audition was going to be the least of her problems...
