10. Big Break

Darlyn was walking on the stage slowly, but surely. She simply said, "Hi judges. Thank you so much for your time and I hope I don't disappoint you." She turns around and then the music starts playing. She takes one deep breathe and turns around to put her act on.

Plug in the mic, open the curtain

Turn on the lights, I'm through rehearsing

The feeling ignites, I'm in control

(During that previous part, Logan was smiling and showing off his dimples; he felt like he had a chance with Darlyn after all)

And there she stands, breathless from all the dancing and singing. She slowly moves her head up and sees what she couldn't believe. All 3 judges were standing up and clapping. She actually got a full standing ovation. After a while she started to cry a little. Logan wanted to run up and hug her in comfort, but he didn't want to ruin her chance with the judges.

"That was spectacular!" Shakira said. "Besides your voice, the powerful and youthfulness in your performance. Your outfit, nice tights by the way. And your moves, you really know how to move girl."

Cee Lo added, "You had me and Mr. Purrfect excited in our seats. That type of excitement and youthfulness, as Shakira pointed out, is what this show needs." So far 2 out of 3 were amazed by Darlyn's performance. She just had one more person to convince. She slowly turned to Simon and saw him semi-smiling.

"I on the other hand didn't like it," Darlyn's heart broke for a moment. "I adored it. Darlyn you say?"

"Yes, that's my name."

"You have exactly what we were looking for. You were being yourself, you weren't being stuck up or overconfident like others, but you still believed in yourself. And you made me believe that you are the one."

Robert then cuts in and brings out Ariel and Britney. "So, do we have a winner after all judges?" The judges started having a mini conversation between themselves. They seemed to be really talking about things. Darlyn still didn't feel comfortable, she just hoped that destiny was making the right choice.

"Okay Robert. We have an answer." A moment of silence occurred. "Our pick for the new tv series of It Girl is..." a drum roll occurred. Logan was mentally drum-rolling because he didn't want to get caught. "Darlyn!!!"

"What, are you guys serious?" They all nodded yes in agreement. "Thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to me."

"Congratulations," Ariel told her as she gave her a hug.

Britney started crying in sadness and ran backstage. Darlyn hurries up to try and see what was wrong, "Everything. I really wanted this and I worked for years to practice my singing and even dancing." Darlyn then got an idea. She knew that both girls were talented and she was sure that there would be new cast member. She quickly pulled Britney back onto the stage. "What are you doing?"

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing." And when they arrived on the stage, Darlyn spoke up, "Excuse me judges. Thanks again for picking me, but I have one concern if that is okay." They all start to pay attention and Simon looks a little upset and worried. "Look, these 2 girls are also really talented, so I was wondering if they could get a part on the show. Even if the writers don't have a part for them I'll be glad enough to help them re-write the series," said as she hugged both of the girls.

Simon then gets up and says, "I knew there was another reason we picked you. You're not only talented, but passionate about your dreams and I see that you really care about making other people's dreams come true."

"So, is that a yes?"

"Yes Darlyn. We'll consider giving these girls a part in the series." All 3 of the girls start jumping up and down in excitement. Darlyn felt like they would become the best of friends.

"Thanks for helping us fulfill our dreams Darlyn," both of the girls say.

Then Britney adds, "I'm really sorry for being mean to you. I just really wanted this and I felt like you were a real competition."

Darlyn felt like that was a complement. "It's okay. I could see it within you that you really wanted this as much as me, or even more."

"Thanks," and she gives her a quick hug.

Then, Logan was getting ready to go up on stage and congrats Darlyn, when the worst thing ever happened...
