Wiping the sweat from her forehead, {F/N} proudly looked down at the big cabinet she had just put together. "Thanks for helping me out, Tadashi. I could've never done this on my own!"
Yamaguchi nervously rubbed the back of his neck, straightening out from being bent over for so long. "I-I didn't do that much, really... You did most of the work."
She chuckled at his self-consciousness and patted him on his shoulder, before carefully stepping over the many leftover shards of wood that were sacrificed for making the tall structure. "Stop being so harsh on yourself! You saved me from tipping this thing over multiple times!"
Tsukishima – who was also helping them by doing nothing at all in the backyard – piped his head through the door, "And from her own stupidity."
Yamaguchi chuckled at his friend's comment and went over to deliver a high five, leaving {F/N} on her own in the livingroom. "Nice, Tsukki!"
"Oh shut it, you two! Be glad I like you!"
She couldn't help but laugh at how they'd find a way to sync up no matter what, which brought her a bit of joy. She had known the two idiots ever since elementary school, and they'd always have each other's backs in case of need. She had learned what made them tick and what she could get away with around them, using it to the fullest and therefore creating a long lasting friendship with the two of them.
And while being friends for so long has a lot of pro's, there's also a lot of cons to work with. Being in love isn't exactly a bad thing, but feelings can ruin the moment very often.
She watched the two boys talk to each other and shoot a glance in her direction every so often, unintentionally making her nervous. They made it very obvious they were talking about her, that's for sure. They did stuff like that a lot and it didn't bother {F/N} most of the times, but Tsukishima knew about her secretive crush on Yamaguchi and had been acting slightly different ever since he knew. It started to worry her, especially with the stuff he'd say and the jokes he'd make whenever the two of them were near each other.
Tsukishima noticed the girl looking at them and actually had a smirk on his face, which was something she hadn't seen in a while. The only time he smirked was when-
"Oh no... No, no, no..." {F/N} shook her head as she silently mumbled the words, seeing Tsukishima pack his bag and get up.
"I've got a bus to catch. My brother wants me to join him in a practice match today." He swung the bag over his shoulder after he put his coat on and walked towards the front door, stopping in its frame before looking back at the two teens. "You two will be fine, right?"
Both of them flushed red without seeing each other and Tsukishima only sneered at this, before closing the door and leaving.
It was awfully silent for a little, but then Yamaguchi broke the silence. "I-Is there anything else that needs to be put together? Or fixed?"
{F/N} nervously laughed as she sat down, "My trust after seeing that smirk all over Kei's face. Can I get you anything, like a drink or something?"
"No, thank you. Uh, there was something I wanted to a-ask you about, though..."
A little surprised, she patted the spot next to her and felt her cheeks heat up when his arm brushed past hers. "What's up?"
"W-Well..." His eyes moved away from her as he took a deep breath, "Tsukki and I were talking about a few things back there."
Hearing him say that made her heart race, especially since she knew how flat out Tsukishima could be and how easily he would just say that she had a crush on Yamaguchi.
"I-I don't know how to explain what I discussed with him, so I... I'm just gonna show you."
"You're gonna sh-"
She wondered what he meant by that, but the sudden interruption of his lips on hers made her understand. She noticed a faint blush on his cheeks which made her smile into the kiss, before closing her eyes and enjoying the moment. He pulled back and looked like he was flustered by his own actions, before gingerly wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
{F/N} laughed at how nervous that made him and softly hit his stomach, "So what exactly did Kei tell you?"
"Th-That you liked me and that I should just make a move, because it started to annoy him that we weren't a thing yet."
She inhaled deeply and let out a sigh at the mentioning of the first sentence, "I'm making sure he'll never have children again tomorrow."
This made Yamaguchi laugh, as he pulled her a bit closer to him. "Nice, {F/N}."
