With a pencil loosely balancing on her finger, {F/N} let out a sigh. It hadn't been the first one that day, and it sure as hell wouldn't be the last. She heaved another sigh, and another, and another, until the two boys she was with decided to find out what was bothering her.
"Are you okay, {F/N}?" Akaashi asked, peaking up from his homework.
"No! I'm expected to have a story ready by tomorrow for a grade!" She replied, softly tugging her hair in frustration.
Akaashi didn't understand what bothered her. "You write stories all the time, don't you? I'm sure you'll be fine."
{F/N} threw her head back desperately and then looked at her empty piece of paper, which only made her more annoyed with herself. "I know I do... I just- I have no inspiration!"
The setter got up from his seat and brought his chair next to hers, grabbing a pencil himself and stealing the piece of paper from her. "Easy. What's the assignment about? Any rules you need to follow?"
"My teacher expects a short story in which the two main characters fall in love. She wants them to differ in characteristics or something..."
Bokuto overhead the two of them talking and jumped up from the couch in the girl's room, slamming his hands on her desk. "You could write about us, {F/N}! Wouldn't that be fun?"
{F/N} chuckled at how persistent he was and failed to notice Akaashi furrow his brows slightly, before shaking her head. "If I'd involve myself I'd make me fall in love with someone else. You know, about me and the person I'm actually interested in."
Bokuto pouted and crossed his arms, sitting back down again and heeding Akaashi as the setter continued to scribble away on the girl's paper.
"Does that mean you're seeing someone?" He then asked, making her turn her head towards the captain.
"Nah. I don't think anyone would date me, anyways. I'm too loud and obnoxious for most people. I'm honestly surprised that the two of you can tolerate me."
Hearing these words leave her mouth only made Akaashi press the pencil against the paper harder, getting up to the point of the sharp tip snapping off of the rest. The sound made both her as Bokuto turn their heads towards him, seeing a troubled expression on his face as he stared at the paper.
"Are you okay, Akaashi?" She asked, genuinely worried about her friend.
Truth be told, if {F/N} could, the entire story she had to write would be about her and Akaashi. She had liked him for quite a while, but she tried to hide it as best as she could. Crushes had only caused her trouble in the past, so if no one knew, she'd be okay, right?
Bokuto noticed the sudden change of aura in the room and got up, muttering a small excuse to leave before hiding on the other side of the door.
"No, I'm not actually."
{F/N}'s eyes widened when hearing how blunt he stated how he was feeling.
"You're talking about how 'bad' you are, and I hate hearing you so negative."
She wanted to interfere with what he was saying, but he left no space for her. "You're a great person and anyone who doesn't see that isn't worth your time."
He put his pencil down and got up, locking his gaze with hers.
"You deserve someone that cherishes every moment they spend with you."
She was taken aback by how he suddenly cracked out of his shell a little. A soft smile crept onto her lips, which made the boy lose his composure slightly. "Someone like you, right? Someone that never fails to make me smile, and who can make my heart skip a beat just by looking at him."
She was hoping he understood the hints she was giving him, but she wouldn't be surprised if he didn't – she had the tendency of overcomplicating things.
When she thought about it again and realized you had just flat out told him she liked him, she intertwined her fingers in her hair and groaned. "Man, I gave it to you just like that! So much for hiding how I felt for so long..."
Akaashi simply blinked a couple times, before fighting a smile. "I was planning on telling you how I felt just there, but it seems like you beat me to it."
Seeing how he was still processing what she said, {F/N} could only chuckle at how cute he looked when he was confused. "I guess I did. At least now I know you feel the same, and that makes me feel so much better!"
Akaashi swung his bag over his shoulder and then walked back to her, resting his hand onto her body before leaning in closer to her face. Knowing he didn't have to be scared of his feelings anymore, he gently kissed her lips and walked towards the door, poising his hand over the doorknob.
"I'll be taking you somewhere after class tomorrow. I hope those things I wrote down will help you."
{F/N} shot a rough glance at the notes and saw that he had written down all the things he liked about her and how he gradually fell in love with her, which seemed to give her enough inspiration for an entire novel.
Running towards him and stopping him before leaving, {F/N} felt her stomach become uneasy when standing so close to him. "I-I know this is early, but... I love you, Akaashi."
The boy smiled softly at you, "I love you too, {F/N}."

BONUS:
Akaashi opened the door and was surprised when Bokuto fell into the room, not expecting him to still be so close after saying he took his leave to grab something from downstairs.
{F/N} stood behind her new boyfriend and looked at the captain on the floor, sighing when realizing he heard everything. "You never went downstairs, did you?"
Akaashi pinched the bridge of his nose when looking down at his friend.
"I-I just wanted to help you guys! I figured that by leaving you two would finally end up together!"
He covered the back of his head and shed a few fake tears, which made the girl laugh.
And boy, did Akaashi love her laugh already.
