Yamaguchi Tadashi. Kind, gentle, caring – the perfect teen to help the new classmate settle in.
With her voice shaking, {F/N} felt around the desk she was placed behind and waited for the reassuring hands on her shoulders.
"M-My name is {L/N} {F/N}..." She introduced, hearing the woman she was with whisper something in her ear.
She wasn't surprised by this; people always had questions for her. Being a blind girl wasn't easy, and she respected that others wanted to ask about that.
"How did you become blind?" The first one asked, which was the first question they'd always ask her.
And she always answered the same, "Ever since I was seven. My parents and I ended up in a car crash and both of them were killed on the spot. I was the only one that survived, but not without injuries. This is part of it."
{F/N} said it as if it was the most casual thing to say, but it still haunted her everywhere she went. That both of her parents were gone was one thing, but that she would never be able to look at a picture of them again? It hurt.
The girl answered the last few questions before her new teacher gestured a boy over, asking if he wanted to introduce himself to her. She was asked to hold her hand out and was surprised to shake hands with something so gentle, smiling softly as he spoke.
"I-I'm Yamaguchi, a new classmate of yours..." He introduced shyly, making her chuckle.
"Nice to meet you, Yamaguchi-kun. I hope we get along!"
How a girl like her could remain so optimistic in the midst of a situation like this surprised him. How did she do it? He already got nervous when he needed to take a test or when he knows he's going to be put in during a volleyball match. Then how could she be so calm?
"It grows on you," She laughed, "I can't see or sense what people think of me, which is both a blessing and a curse."
"A-Ah. Well, lunch is about to start... C-Can I introduce you to my friend?"
{F/N} nodded and felt him guide her through a horde of teens and tables, being as careful as he could be.
"Tsukki!" He called, waving at his friend.
"What is it, Yamaguchi..." He replied, tilting his head when seeing {F/N}.
"Y-You need to introduce yourself to {L/N}-san!"
{F/N} felt her hand being extended and felt a firmer grip on hers, "Tsukishima."
"Nice to meet you, Tsukishima-kun. I'm {L/N} {F/N}."
She smiled at him and was unable to see his reaction, but then again, Tsukishima wasn't one for emotion.
The three of them ended up eating lunch together on the rooftop, being bombarded with questions by Yamaguchi on how she was going to follow their classes and how she was going to read and all of that. She explained him about her special books and the braille that was in it, trying her best to teach him how to read a little of it.
He was now the one responsible for her, so he ended up walking her home sometimes and chatting with her foster mother a lot to get to know more about her.
"I'm very glad you're taking care of my daughter," She'd say, "You're reliable and I'm pretty sure you're just what she needs. Thank you so much."
He'd blush – which {F/N} would find cute, even though she couldn't see it – and tell her mother that there was no need to thank him and that he enjoyed being around her daughter.
This cycle repeated itself weekly and it wasn't long before the two of them were really close. Tsukishima was annoyed by the fact that they weren't a thing yet and refused to speak to either of then until they were together, which brought some hurry for the two of them.
They were eating lunch together on the rooftop yet again; {F/N}'s notebook on her lap. "So, I wrote a sentence out for you in braille. If you can read this, you'll be able to read my textbooks entirely."
She nervously waited for him to take the notebook from her lap and read it, having her head facing in the opposite direction of from where he was sitting – or, so she thought.
The boy slowly moved his finger over the dots and blushed when realizing what it said, turning his head to face {F/N} and not expecting to see her as red as she was. I mean, she didn't even know she was looking at him.
His cheeks were hot, his ears were red, and the only thing he could do to answer her left him with sweaty palms and a racing heart.
The silence didn't help her nervousness at all, and she wanted to say something, but the words just didn't come.
Yamaguchi tamed his shy side – sort of – and grabbed her hand, closing his eyes and pressing his lips against hers.
{F/N}'s eyes were teary from the sickening tension and she couldn't hold them back; but they weren't tears of sadness anymore.
The first year pulled back and smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck whilst staring at the happy expression on her face.
"D-Don't cry...!" He said worriedly, wiping away her tears in the process.
"S-Sorry, I'm just... Really happy. Especially because you treat me like you treat everybody else. I-I... I love you, Tadashi."
Her fingers played with his as she said it, her head lowered as she waited for a response.
"I-I love you too, {F/N}."

This should've been cuter, tbh ;w; There's so many cute things I could've done with a blind reader and how many did I do? None. Yay me!
