AU in which you receive a puzzle piece every year, that form a picture/name of your soulmate when put together :)

Iwaizumi sighed for the umpteenth time that day. As an eighteen year old, the puzzle pieces to finding his soulmate were piling up.
The pieces on the corner of his desk were taunting him; mocking him to put them together. He had always refused to do it, since he wanted all the pieces at once, but now that he had them all, he was still hesitant.
A two by nine puzzle, spelling out a name when put together and including little hints on the back of them to help a person figure it out... He wanted none of that.
Running into your soulmate without knowing who it was sounded much more appealing to him, but it wasn't like he had much of a choice – for him to meet his soulmate, he had to know who it was. Only if both parties had put it together would they be able to move on, and Iwaizumi knew this all too well.
He decided on counting the pieces over and over again, stopping after the tenth time when he was sure nothing was going to change. He didn't want to know who it was immediately, so he turned all the pieces on their backs and read the hints one by one.
"Eighteen", "Taller", "Male" – none of this helped him at all. This could basically mean almost every third year throughout the world, and as far as he was concerned, that was a lot of people.
However, when he reached his seventh piece, his lips parted a little. "Aoba Johsai", it read. Now that narrowed down his options by a lot.
The boy continuously tried to rack his brain to no avail, which made him read another puzzle piece.
"Sportive", "Team Player", "Class 6", Iwaizumi was getting closer, but it still didn't ring a bell.
He continued to turn them until there were two pieces left, and he dreaded reading them oh so much.
Then, he was supposed to know who his soulmate was.
Then, he knew who he'd have to track down.
Then, he'd have to properly focus on becoming an adult...
It all kind of scared him.
Something like this was overwhelming for anyone, especially those who never really gave love a thought.
He grabbed the last puzzle piece and held it between his fingers, eyes widening when reading the last clue – "Volleyball".
He could only think of one person that matched this description to a T, and when realizing that, everything started to fall into place.
He turned all the pieces rapidly and put them together, his fists balled up as he leaned over his desk and stared at the name.
"Oikawa..."
It all made sense now – why the setter always asked Iwaizumi about his puzzle pieces, why he always stuck so close to Iwaizumi, why he was more friendly with Iwaizumi around...
Oikawa knew. Oikawa knew for a while.
"Damnit," Iwaizumi hissed, "Why didn't you just fucking say so?"
He slipped into his shoes and grabbed his coat from its hanger, leaving his house without a word and running straight to Oikawa's place.
He had no idea as to why he was running, but it happened to all the soulmates who had both of their puzzles complete. A sudden urge of wanting to see the other would occur for the both of them, and they'd do whatever they had to do to see each other.
That's why, after a good ten minutes of running, Iwaizumi was surprised to find Oikawa running towards him. They both had the same idea, thus the explanation of the urge.
Iwaizumi rested his hands on his knees, panting as he eyed Oikawa with a sly grin. "You could've just told me, y'know?"
Oikawa showed his signature 'scratch your head and poke your tongue out', "But this was more fun, wasn't it, Iwa-chan?"
The Ace slapped the back of his soulmate's head and started walking, the other half of the party following suit. "No, Shittykawa, not at all. Just say it next time, instead of being so vague."
"But-"
"No buts."
"Awh, that's cute- Iwa-chan, that hurt!"
"Serves you right. And zip up your coat, it's cold outside."
It was true – it was about three AM and freezing out.
Oikawa refused and held his head high, staring at the moon before he felt something touch his chest. Iwaizumi was zipping up his coat, and the sight of the boy underneath this lighting made his stomach tingle. That, and the red coated on the Ace's cheeks looked so adorable to him.
"Don't look at me like that, Assikawa." He said, shoving his palm against the setter's face as he averted his gaze to the road up ahead with the blush still lingering on his cheeks.
"I can't help it, Iwa-chan~ Someone as cute as you deserves to be looked at!" Oikawa grinned, to which Iwaizumi simply shook his head.
"I want none of that."
The two walked in silence for a while, but like every soulmate pairing could tell you, all of them seemed to crave their first kiss on the same day, too.
Oikawa was still staring on ahead with his arms behind his head, and Iwaizumi had his hands deep in his pockets, watching his breath turn into vapor as he couldn't seem to contain himself anymore.
"Just do it," He mumbled, "We both want to."
Oikawa hummed from the side, "Hm? Do what, Iwa-chan?"
Oikawa knew exactly what his soulmate was on about – but getting Iwaizumi to say that would leave the Ace flustered, which Oikawa loved to see.
"You know what I'm talking about."
"I really don't understand, Iwa-chan~"
The shorter one sighed and pulled the captain's head down, pushing their lips together followed by his mouth burried in his scarf.
Oikawa was kind of baffled by the fact that Iwaizumi took the initiative, but he couldn't say he didn't enjoy their sudden meeting.
The dark sky with bright stars illuminated their path back home, which promised more kisses and romance that had yet to come.
