"Kei, I'm really sorry. I didn't know they'd break so fast and I didn't know how much they meant to you..." {F/N} apologized to her boyfriend, whose eyes – for once – looked a little heartbroken.
What had happened? Let me inform you.

"Kei~" {F/N} cooed, walking down the sidewalk with the blond.
He continued to listen to his music and didn't even pay attention to her, which made her pout. Deciding that tugging his sleeve wasn't good enough, she stood on the tips of her toes to steal his headphones and smiled sheepishly when seeing his eyes widen a little, running off with them before he had the time to grab them from her.
"{F/N}, come back here." He said, but the girl waved it off and continued running. "Be careful with those, they were-"
{F/N} put the headphones over her ears and listened to the songs he played as she turned around, walking straight into a tree and being knocked to the ground.
"... Expensive."
He heaved a sigh at seeing her so clumsy and walked over to her, seeing her with a worried look on her face as she held his headphones in her hands.
"I-I... They're broken..." She whispered, starting to feel really bad for stealing them in the first place.
He didn't say anything about it and took them from her hands, helping her up and checking her face for some injuries before walking away. Even though he didn't show it, the fact that his headphones were broken definitely made an impact.
"Let's get you home before you damage yourself more."

"Misses Tsukishima, is Kei okay?" {F/N} asked, sitting at the kitchen table of the boy's house. "I called him three times and texted him like seven times, but he hasn't replied to any of it. I wanted to ask how much his headphones cost so I could replace them, because I really didn't mean to break them..."
The teen's mother sat down on the opposite side of the girl and showed a sad smile, understanding why she was concerned. "He'll be fine tomorrow. Those headphones just meant a lot to him. You guys haven't been dating for that long, have you?"
{F/N} shook her head, "Only a couple weeks..."
"I suppose he hasn't told you about his cousin, then. His cousin was the only one he really got along with as a child, and he passed away a year ago. This was the last thing his cousin gave him, so he treasured it like a kid treasures their lollipop."
And this dealt the final blow to the teen's guilt.
"I-I didn't know... If I would've known I would've been more careful and-and I-"
{F/N} began to stumble over her words and ended up in tears, being pretty upset with herself for doing something so recklessly. "H-How can I repay him? There has to be something I can do to apologize... Man, I feel so bad!"
The mother smiled and rested a hand on the girl's shoulder, "He's in his room. I'm sure that if you talk about something he likes or offer to buy him a dinosaur statue he'd be happy already. I'm sure he'll be okay tomorrow."
{F/N} nodded determinedly and wiped away her tears before going up the stairs, softly knocking on her boyfriend's door. "I understand it if you don't want to talk to me, but... Can I please come in?"
His voice remained as monotone as ever as he continued to read a book about dinosaurs, heaving a sigh when hearing someone disturb him. "Door's open."
{F/N} quickly made her way in and closed the door behind her, remaining near the door as she looked at her feet. "Look, Kei, I'm really sorry. I didn't know they'd break so fast and I didn't know how much they meant to you..."
The blond closed his book and got up from his chair, sitting down on his bed and patting the spot next to him. "Don't worry about it. I already fixed it... Sort of."
He still didn't sound fully recovered, but she couldn't blame him – the last time one of her manga books got dirty she was affected by it for an entire week.
"Can I get you anything as an apology? I just got my paycheck so I have enough to spend." She offered, looking for eye contact and seeing his gaze soften a little.
He ignored her question and looked at her puffy eyes, sighing whilst pinching her cheek. "Have you been crying?"
"Well, yeah, I thought I hurt you pretty bad... And if you keep pinching my cheek like that I might just cry again. It's starting to hurt."
He let go of her cheek and furrowed his brows slightly, in such a way that it was oblivious to any commoner but noticable for her.
"What?"
"Nothing..."
"Kei."
"Fine. I thought about an apology."
{F/N}'s eyes widened slightly, "What is it?"
"Not important."
"Tsukishima Kei."
"Do you really want to know that badly?"
The girl nodded her head and crossed her arms, refusing to let him off the hook now.
Even though he hated to admit and usually refrained himself from saying it out loud, he figured that now he had no choice. "I don't like seeing you sad about something I'm involved in. So if you really want to apologize..."
He averted his gaze from her and started blushing slightly, mumbling the words as he tried to avoid sounding sappy. "Smile for me."
And boy, did she smile.
