This one-shot is inspired by the entire idea that runs in the game Tales of Zestiria. If you haven't heard of this game (and now anime :o) I really recommend it!

"Say, Yaku..." {F/N} asked, her eyes fixated on the grass in front of her as she tried to keep her mind collected. "Do you think a relationship between a human and a seraph would work?"

Yaku turned his head towards his Sub Lord and tilted his head, pretending he hadn't ever thought about the question but having a hard time seeing that plan through.

"What's with the sudden question?" He laughed, seeing the girl's cheeks turn a little red at his answer.

"No reason. Just curious."

He didn't quite buy her excuse, but he knew she really wanted an answer – and he knew he couldn't lie either, because she always caught him if he tried.

"I don't know. I'm sure that if it came to it, there has to be a way around it."

"Say they had kids?"

"That's a tough one. Can you imagine a human explaining that to his family? I honestly wouldn't know what to respond with as a parent."

"Ah... T-That makes sense, I guess..."

The girl seemed troubled by the question but tried her hardest in brushing it off, dusting off her pants before wanting to take her leave. "I'll be off, then."

Without realizing it, the young shepherd grabbed {F/N}'s wrist and ordered her to wait, not seeing the bigger picture until his Prime Lord Kenma had pointed it out to him.

"You're asking this because you like someone, right? A human?"

The girl avoided his eyes, but she knew he had caught on faster than expected – and that made her rather uncomfortable. "Well... What do you want me to say? Glenwood's full of humans, isn't it? Y-You're not the only human I hang out with."

Yaku could tell this was a lie because of the fact that the humans couldn't see her, but he still felt kind of hurt because of it and decided to pretended that she was being honest. "Oh, really? Tell me about the human you like."

{F/N} realized that she had messed up and that no matter how hard she tried to lie, Yaku already figured out who it was and it was just doing this to tease her – which left her with mixed feelings. If he was going to reject her, couldn't he have just said so immediately?

"There's no point in telling you. You'll just laugh and tell me he's not interested in me."

Lev, the water seraph Yaku had made a pact with, tilted his head and brought himself into the conversation, going in against the protests from his vessel's mouth. "What are you talking about, {F/N}-chan? Yaku-san is more than interested in you!"

Yaku sighed in defeat and stood up, delivering his famed roundhouse kick to the seraph before looking over at his earth seraph – surprised by the red tint of her cheeks and the shock in her eyes.

The young shepherd grinned sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck, sending her a closed-eye smile that sent her heart racing. "I-I mean, it's not like he's wrong or anything..."

{F/N} still didn't know how to respond and could only bring up a bundled mess of words, her heart beating against her chest. "B-But I thought-"

"Ah, I must've given you the wrong idea just now, didn't I? With the entire parent thing?"

The girl was still glued in place and tried to put the puzzle pieces together, but her reasoning subsided as soon Yaku wrapped his arms around her.

"I'd be more than happy to explain to my parents that I was seeing a seraph."

"B-But they're humans, they can't even see me... T-They'll just think you're insane when you claim to be able to talk to seraphim."

"I'm sure they won't think that, but if they do, who cares? Why don't we visit them right now?"

{F/N} struggled to follow the idea, but it seemed like she had no choice – the Shepherd was as determined as ever.

Getting the idea out on the table was a harder task than Yaku imagined it would be, but surely they knew of his title as a Shepherd. Everyone knew the Shepherd, so why wouldn't they, right?

He knocked on his parents' door and was surprised by how fast they opened, waiting for the seraphim to pass through first before he went in.

He took a deep breath and eyed his parents one by one, before just dropping it on the table. "Mom, dad... I-I want you guys to meet my girlfriend."

His cheeks burned with red as his parents smiled brightly, the first question coming faster than expected and throwing the young boy off-guard.

"Oh, I'm so excited! Where is she?"

{F/N} could already feel her heart sink and Yaku noticed that from the corner of his eye, but he had to pull through – for her sake and his. "She's a seraph."

He turned around and pushed the girl forwards, knowing his parents couldn't see her but wanting to do it anyways.

The parents got up and silently inspected the airspace, before starting to laugh together and watching their son starting to boil a bit.

The mother patted {F/N}'s shoulder and walked past her, pinching Yaku's cheek and knowing for sure that {F/N} was confused about what just happened. "Why do you think you can see seraphim?"

Kuroo, Yaku's fire seraph, smirked wildly as he crossed his arms. "Seems like you've been had."

Both Yaku as {F/N}'s cheeks burned with red because of embarrassment, and that didn't waver when the father wanted to mess with them, either. "You're not leaving until I see the two of you kiss." – and kiss they did.

I might turn my ship-book into a boyxboy thing and add a Mikleo x Sorey one, because I'm addicted to TOZ again... Yaku needs more attention, tbh – Hope you enjoyed!
