Here's the thing about Crescentburg, we're not really famous for anything. Yeah, we have decent schools, nice homes, and plenty of jobs like any good town but we have nothing to make us recognizable.

Except parties.

Everyone in Crescentburg, young and old, knew how to throw wild horribly illegal legendary parties that left you wrecked and fearing arrest for days. Luke and I have been invited to every high school party this past year and got to feel the after effects of fun more times than we can count.

To be invited to these parties though, you had to be somebody. In most cases, somebody popular or rich at least. For me it was a combination of the two plus my radio show.

Another advantage under my belt.

What we were both the most excited for tonight though, was the drag race. The party we were going to had a lot of rich kids attending and they all had chipped in a lot of cash. Cash that would be mine if Luke won. Luke was already rich enough without the money and he had no use for it, so I was the beneficiary.

I'm sure one that one day when he goes broke he's going to make me pay him back but until then I'll take what I can get. If he wins that money tonight I would have enough cash for a down payment on a decent car when I added it to my savings. I rather do that then buy another bike for Victoria to run over with her car.

"You have to promise me you won't drink before the race, we can't risk alcohol costing you a win," I said to Luke as we both got ready in his bathroom.

"C'mon Ben, you know I never drink and drive my five hundred thousand dollar cars. I reserve that behavior for the fifty thousand dollar ones," He reminded, pretty much brushing off my statement and before I could argue with him about the dangers of that, he had already moved on to the next thing as he gelled his hair.

"So what are you going to do about Victoria tonight? She trashed a two hundred dollar bike. That definitely calls for pay back."

Laughing I looked over at him.

"Well, I was thinking about locking her in a closet for the night but that won't work out very well if some idiot goes to throw up in there, so I'm going to have think of a contingency plan."

When comes down to playing dirty with a girl you have to play your cards carefully because girls can get away with doing just about anything to a boy but if you touched them the wrong way you could get screwed over really bad. So I'd have to play it safe with my revenge tonight and I think I knew the perfect thing.

"What's plan B then?" Luke asked and I smirked at him.

"We'll need to stop at the pet store on the way over."

There's no better revenge then bugs.

Girls for whatever odd reason are terrified of bugs and often us boys tried to come up with a theory to explain why. Luke thinks it's because they just like screaming and will use the stupidest things as an excuse. I think it's something in their biology that developed a long time ago. Perhaps in the time in history when bugs were bigger and scarier and flesh eating? The village woman probably feared them then and that fear was passed down through the generations.

That or all girls were just wimps.

Irregardless, when us boys wanted to mess with a girl bugs was the way to go. Especially when that girl ran your expensive singular mode of transportation over with her car. I swear I was going to have to hire a bodyguard team if this girl didn't stop her delusional pursuit of my love soon.

When Luke and I got to the party we didn't go straight to Victoria though, we waited for her to come to us while we mixed in with our friends and talked about the race. I estimated that it'd take her half an hour or less to realize I was here and come over to brag about ruining my bike.
