Even with all the stressful, emotionally taxing events that occured that night I couldn't remember ever sleeping as peacefully as I did with Lucy in my arms.

Not to sound sappy or anything but I think she fit perfectly in my arms like two pieces of a puzzle and nothing could scare me off, even bad morning breath.

Around six I woke up to the sound of her alarm beeping and with a yawn I sat up. Her room was really pleasant in the morning. All the light from her artwork seemed to shimmer in the rising morning sun and I wasn't sure why but it made me smile widely. Sighing, I then looked over at Lucy who had began to stir and I leaned over to pressed a soft kiss to her cheek.

"Lucy...Lucy its time to get up." I mumbled. Muttering some incoherently, she pushed me away and curled up into a little ball. "Lucy...Lucy c'mon...I can't go to school with out my hot mess." I urged as I poked her side.

"Ben leave me alone." She groaned, squirming away from my hand.

"C'mon Lucy I don't want to be late for school and I have to do Radio Boy this morning." I whined, kissing her head then her cheek again.

"Don't you want to do Radio Boy with me this morning?" I asked, only to be pushed away again.

"I'm sleeping. Don't make me kill you." She grumbled. Geez, this girl really wasn't a morning person.

"You couldn't kill me if you tried." I smirked. I was then going to tickle her in hopes of getting her completely up but before I could I was interrupted by Oscar banging on the door.

"Lucy! Lucy its time to get up! I want you to actually have time to eat breakfast this morning! Don't make me come in there!" He called out, making me completely freeze as Lucy shot up fast.

"No! Don't come in here...I...umm...I'm getting dressed!" She called out before pointing to the window. "Get out now, if Oscar catches you in here he's going to kill you and I promise you he will try and succeed." She whispered and I nodded fast as I got up off the bed.

"Who are you talking to?" Oscar asked from the other side of the door.

"You obviously. Can a girl get dressed in peace?" Lucy remarked as I opened the window. She then turned back to me. "Wait like ten or fifteen minutes then come back." She whispered and I nodded before grabbing her face and giving her a quick kiss.

"See you then," I said before slipping out the window and slidding down off the roof as Oscar started lecturing Lucy about respect.

Once I was safely out of her front yard I went back to my car and got inside before taking a moment to catch my breath. That had been a close call, way to close. I had never been almost caught with girl by her dad before and I didn't know how scary it could be. I wasn't to sure why I was scared though, I had gotten away hadn't I? And even if he had caught us, I wasn't doing anything wrong with Lucy.

Exhaling slowly I pulled out my phone and called my mom to tell her I had left early to go pick up Lucy and do Radio Boy. By the time I hung up with her twenty minutes had passed so I presumed it was safe now to reappear at Lucy's house. Before I went though I combed my fingers through my hair and readjusted my clothing so I wouldn't look like I had just climbed out of bed.

Once I was sure I didn't look suspicious I started my car and drove up to Lucy's house so it'd look like I had just got there and parked by the curb.

The whole walk from my car and up to the house my heart pounding and when I knocked on the front door it stopped for a moment. Even though I was positive Oscar hadn't seen me, I was worried that maybe he did. Fortunately I was able to keep my cool when he opened the door.

"Hey Ben. I didn't expect you here so early," He said, making me swallow thickly.

"Oh yeah, I told Lucy I was going to pick her up to do Radio Boy with me this morning and we might go by the hospital to see Luke," I said quickly, hoping I didn't look to suspicious.

"Oh yeah, I heard he woke up. How's he doing?" He asked and a genuine smile appeared on my face.

''A little grouchy but good." I informed and he smiled warmly at me as he stepped aside so I could come in.

"That's good. I was really happy for you when Lucy told me he woke up. That's really good news Ben, it looks like things are looking up for you," He said, making me completely forget I was scared of him. I had nothing to be scared of, not now at least.

"Thanks Oscar. You've been a really big help through everything I've been through, so has Lucy," I said fondly as I walked inside. Nodding he then gestured upstairs.

"She's getting dressed right now. How about you wait in the living room with Wally?" He suggested and I nodded as I walked into the living room where Wally was cradling a bowl of cereal while watching Tom and Jerry.

"Hey Wally, Ben is going to keep you company while he waits for Lucy." Oscar informed and Wally nodded as he scooted over so I could sit down.

Once I did Oscar went back to the kitchen. For a long moment the only thing heard was the music from the cartoon. It wasn't until a commercial break came that Wally turned to me.

"I saw you falling off the roof. Were you in Lucy's room?" He asked, completely catching me by surprise.

''Whaaat? No! You must've seen wrong." Oh gosh, my voice went like four pitches higher, he'll know I'm lying.

"Nope. It was you," He said and I narrowed my eyes at him as I pulled out my wallet.

"I'll give you ten bucks if you don't tell your dad." I bargained. For a long moment Wally considered it then held out his hand. Reluctantly I paid him for his unguaranteed silence. With his cute little kid grin, Wally pocket the ten before turning back to the tv.

"Lucy has a crush on you, you know. She talks about you all the time." He informed, making me smile as I sat back.

"She does, does she?" I grinned and he nodded before looking back at me.

"Ben, where was Lucy going?" He inquired, making me frown in confusion.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my grin suddenly fading.

"Lucy told me she was going to go away and I had to be brave but then she told me she decided not to go away right now. She told me that she wanted to stay here with you because you make her happy," he said and my heart caught in my throat.

"She really said that?" I asked disbelievingly and Wally nodded.

"Mmhmm." He hummed as he then laid his head on my shoulder.

"Thank you for making Lucy want to stay with me. She's my bestest friend in the whole wide world." He whispered. Trying hard to blink back hot tears, I nodded slowly as I wrapped an arm around him.

"She's not going anywhere Wally, I promise."
