After announcing my unchangeable decision Andrew and I got into a heated twenty minute argument that ended with his final decision to blow the whistle on Lucy's secret if I couldn't make her change her mind before the thirty-three days were up.
How to you make someone you've only met once in a bathroom to find hope again though? I didn't want to go straight up to her and preach about how she should give life another chance, I wanted to show her why she should.
I had a few ideas, I just wasn't sure where to began, so I decided to stick to what always won girls over--cheesy pickup lines. Not that I was going to pick her up, I just wanted to make her laugh and ease her into a conversation.
Was a brilliant idea? No. It kind of stunk, but I had nothing else.
Anyways, she wrote in her journal that she couldn't understand why no boys ever used a cheesy pick up line on her and I wanted to do what would appeal to her.
So the entire two days I was suspended I agonized over finding the perfect pick up line to try on her without sounding like I was trying to get with her, but give me an excuse to talk to her at the same time.
Thanks to google I found it pretty quick, I just hoped it was effective because I wasn't really one for talking to girls, since I had become popular they came to me--that meant I had to put my game face on.
"Just to be clear, if this backfires I had nothing to do with it," Andrew said for the hundredth time as we walked across the courtyard. He came with me to the studio this morning to listen to me do my radio show then we walked to school together.
"I know Andrew, I know. You won't have to take any blame or backlash. Chill." I rolled my eyes as we made our way up to the steps. Andrew was cool but he worried to much.
That was probably why he was one of those kids who could be popular but wasn't.
"I am chill, I'm just worried. You're going to play with fire and I don't want you to burn me." He shrugged and I laughed.
"Oh c'mon, no one is getting burned and stop comparing Lucy to fire," I said as I nudged him.
"There is no difference between fire and girls." He muttered.
"Write it in your next play Shakespeare," I said as we then made our way inside of the school.
Maybe it was because I was on time today, maybe it was because I held my head a little higher, or maybe it was I had beaten the snot out of Jamie, but I got a more positive welcome back then I did before I was suspended.
Usually I thrived on the attention but today I was just in a rush to find Lucy. Supposedly Andrew knew where her locker was, so I was more worried about sticking to him in the hallway then talking about the football games I missed.
Soon though we had managed to navigate through the halls and we both found ourselves at the lockers outside the art room. Of course, I should've figured her locker would be here.
"Is her locker actually here, or are you taking a wild guess?" I asked as we took a stand near the wall so we could watch the kids passing through the hall.
"This really is where her locker is, why?" He asked as he pulled out his phone. Not sure if he really was using it, or pretending to so he'd look more natural.
"Its just, she likes art." I mumbled, more to myself then him as I pulled out my phone as well.
I was definitely trying to act natural.
We then waited.
Andrew was more relaxed about it but I was tense and made it a little to obvious I was looking for someone because every time a brunette girl walked by I looked up fast, only to look back at the blank screen of my phone once more. This was the routine for the next half hour and soon the warning bell was ringing.
"I guess she's not here today Ben, we better get to class or we're going to be late.'' Andrew warned and I shook my head fast.
"No! She's going to come, lets just wait." I begged and he sighed heavily as he checked his watch.
"Two more minutes," He said and I nodded as I put my phone away and began looking down the hall.
She was no where to be seen.
Maybe she had already come to her locker?
Or she was running late?
Or worse, she wasn't coming.
At all.
"Where is she? Why hasn't she come yet?" I asked worriedly as I paced around and Andrew stood up straight as he looked around.
"Maybe she doesn't come to her locker before class. Lets just try again later." He decided and I felt my shoulders slump.
I wanted to wait as long as it took but I just got back from being suspended and I didn't want to get in trouble before the first hour of school had passed.
So with a wistful sigh I turned away to walk to my homeroom and that was when the tables turned.
"Ben, Ben wait! There she is!" I heard Andrew whisper as he grabbed my arm and I felt like my heart had been jolted as I looked over my shoulder, and there she was.
Lucy Burke from the boys bathroom.

Hey guys! I'm so sorry this chapter is so short, I had such a small window of time to update that I rather give something short then nothing at all! I'd love to go on and on and tell you about my Senior prom right now, but that'll have to wait until next update!
Hope you have a good Saturday! :)
