I was happy.

I was happy Lucy was happy, I was happy Rachel found an apartment and I didn't get her fired, I was happy we got to see some Italian relatives, I was happy I told Lucy how I felt about her, I was happy I got to kiss her again, the list was endless.

The day before the trip had been really bad and now it was like the Saturday night catastrophe was nonexistent in the bliss of New York City.

We had originally planned to stay until Tuesday morning but when my dad found out some of his relatives from Italy were in New York he decided to extend the trip until Wednesday, which surprisingly was okay with Oscar and Luke's dad said he'd find a substitute to run Radio Boy both mornings.

It kind of felt nice to know we were missing two dreaded days of school. The much needed break from Crescentburg became more and more evident as the trip became more fun.

After the museum that night Rachel took us out to eat and to explore the shopping centers that were still open. The day after that Lucy and I spent our morning floating around in the pool, then we went to central park with my mom before going to the statue of liberty.

While it may not have all sounded too fabulous, I was having a blast and I'm pretty sure Lucy was to. My favorite thing about the whole day was that we kept laughing at nothing; have you ever had one of those days with a sister, brother, or friend where the stupidest thing like someone saying hello would make you crack up?

We did a ton of other stuff that day too but I didn't keep track.

The next morning, Wednesday morning everyone ended up sleeping in but I had to much excited energy to sleep, so instead I slipped out onto the balcony to call Andrew.

Even though it was early, I knew he was awake because Andrew was one of those weirdos who woke up early to work out. As predicted, he answered after two rings.

"Do my eyes deceive me, or does the caller ID really say Ben Alderman?" He gasped upon answering and I rolled my eyes.

"Hey Drew, whats up man?" I asked as I got comfortable on the balcony chair.

"Just getting in my morning work out before school, ya know, the thing you should really do. Man if I was as tall as you, I'd treat-"

"My body nicely, yeah Andrew. I know you tell me every time I eat a piece of pizza."

We all had that one friend who was a health nut and our humble little Andrew was a hardcore one and liked to give us unnecessary advice about working out. I think he gave up on Rodney though after the taco incident.

"Yeah and you never listen to me." Andrew then yawned. "So what do I owe this call to? Everything going okay?" He asked and like a teenage girl who laid on her bed twirling her hair, I began to tell Andrew everything that had happened from beginning to end.

Because I was keen on telling him every teeny tiny detail, the quick phone call turned into almost half an hour. Like a good friend though Andrew listened patiently the entire time and when I finished he exhaled slowly.

"Yikes. I had hoped the trip was going to go well, but I didn't think it was going to go that good." He admitted, shuffling around.

"I know, me neither." I smiled as I looked through the balcony door's window at Lucy who was still sleeping peacefully. She looked like an angel laying there, so precious you'd never forgive yourself for disturbing her.

"Just be careful Ben okay? Don't forget about your mission at hand, I'd really hate for you to lose sight of what's important here and do something you'd regret. Telling her that you love her, while its nice of you to be honest, it may not have been something you should've said right now," He said, making me sigh.

Badly my ego wanted me to argue with Andrew and tell him he was wrong and that I knew what I was doing but his argument was valid.

"I know...I just...I couldn't help it. Something came over me and it was controlling my brain I guess," I said as I looked away from Lucy and out at the New York scenery.

"I think your forming an emotional attachment to her and that makes me worry about you."

Andrew then went quiet for a long moment.

"Ben...what happens after the thirty-three days are up? We've been doing nothing but planning for the present and haven't been paying attention to the future. You have fourteen more days left you know," He said, making me inhale deeply.

Why did he have to remind me of that?

The little time I had left was the last thing I wanted to think about this morning, even though Andrew was right. I hadn't planned for the future, just the now.

"Obviously...obviously I'm still going to be her friend and I doubt my feelings will change...I really care about her Andrew...I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.." I practically whispered as I bit my lip hard.

"Okay, I trust you." He then sighed heavily. "Jamie is back in school you know and guess who his new girlfriend is?"

"Who?" I asked curiously as I rested my arm behind my head.

"Victoria."

At that, as evil as this may sound, I laughed.

"Their perfect for each other," I said, feeling a tiny bit relieved. Maybe by dating that meant they had forgotten about Lucy and I.

"Yeah, I don't disagree but I'm worried." He admitted.

"Why? If their both dating now we probably don't have to worry about them." I reassured. Andrew wasn't convinced.

"I don't know, I have a really bad feeling about it. What if their getting together because their plotting something? The timing is alarming." Andrew pointed out. I just laughed again.

"Andrew, Victoria has seen me with Lucy plenty of times and she knows we've been doing the radio show together lately. If she was going to do something she would've already and I doubt Jamie will do anything because he doesn't want to be expelled again. Don't worry about it. They're probably just hooking up because they have a common enemy, or their trying to make Lucy and I jealous or something." I chuckled.

That seemed to calmed him down a little and even got a laugh out of him.

"Why are some exes so psychotic? It makes me want to be single forever," He said, making me laugh harder as I nodded.

"You just have to chose wisely, don't be blinded by their looks. That's where you can-"

I was then cut off by my phone beeping from an incoming call.

Pulling the phone away I saw it was Luke's dad and I wasn't sure why but I felt a lump appear in my throat.

"Hey Andrew, Luke's dad is calling me. Let me call you back," I said and before Andrew could respond I hung up and answered his call. "Hey Mr. Reynolds," I said as calmly as I could. Luke's dad never called anyone, unless it was something really serious and right now my heart was pounding so fast I felt like I couldn't breath.

"Ben, I need you to come home as quickly as possible. Its Luke," He said making my heart stop mid-beat as I stood up fast. I had always had nightmares about Luke's dad calling me with bad news about him but I never thought any of them would come true.

"What happened? What...what do you mean its Luke? Is he...is he..." I couldn't even bring myself to say the word. Luke's dad then inhaled and exhaled deeply.

"He woke up Ben, he woke up and he's been asking for you."
