...Ugh...
I am literally the only person in the world that did not like these two together. Literally. The only person in the world. In the universe, probably.
To me, these two were literally pushed towards the other. I didn't see any growth between them. I didn't get what Eugene saw in Rapunzel. I didn't get what Rapunzel saw in Eugene. Eugene seems to only like her based on looks and maybe how she can defend herself (I guess?), and Rapunzel only liked him because he liked her. Their relationship was pretty much summed up in one song (a gorgeous song, but still), and then they were able to die for one another. After spending so little time together...Okay...
Eugene literally throws all his dreams out the window for some pretty girl. People say shit about all the past Disney romances for being forced and rushed, yet no one bats a fucking eye when the trope was still alive in Tangled. Everyone thought they were perfect for one another, no questions asked.
How can I ship something that I can't understand? How can I ship something so forced in? I felt cold when I saw them kiss. It didn't feel earned, like in Princess and the Frog or in Frozen. It just happened.
I know what I saw, and what I saw was a poorly written relationship.
