This one is very similar to Rapunzler, having a girl who loves the world around her fall in love with the guy who destroys it. Yet there is a deeper connection since Audrey has longed to see the trees that the Once-ler ends up destroying. It's due to this deeper connection that I prefer this over Rapunzler, even if not by much.
For one thing, Once-ler does have an apparent eccentric side, and, even if it's not as obvious as Wilbur's, it definitely fits him with Audrey as one of my favorite tropes, eccentric with timid! There's also another trope I like, that an OTP of mine has, that this ship includes, which is that Audrey might help the Once-ler to see the beauty of nature, which would make it even more heartbreaking when the Once-ler goes greedy.
This one is not as similar as Rapunzler--heck, they seem like total opposites, and it's also not as happy, but you know., I actually prefer these two with each other, since I prefer Rapunzel with Jack (And I prefer Jack with someone else, but whatever).
So yeah, I do love this one, a little more than Rapunzler, though not as much as, say, Felsa or Kristanna. It's a dynamic I really enjoy and want to see more of, angst included.
