I don't think I have any yuri shippings that I honest to God can't stand in this fandom. There are many that don't grab me, but none that fill me with rage. This is one of those that simply doesn't grab me.
I get why people like it. Meripunzel shippers think it's cute how Merida and Rapunzel are complete opposites but somehow fall in love. Rapunzel would soothe Merida down. Merida having a crush on Rapunzel is adorable. It's also a very unexpected relationship, especially considering that in the Big Four you have two other guys they could both go for. I would actually like to see them in more content, not as 'HiJack needs to happen so let's make the girls lesbians', but like 'Here is a super adorable lesbian relationship I'm going to explore'. All of what I've seen of them is adorable, I wouldn't mind more.
I would be lying if I said I honestly ship this though. I honestly don't see Merida finding much she can relate with Rapunzel, and Merida seems like someone who could only fall for someone she can relate to. I think Rapunzel would find Merida's wild side endearing, but not something she'd want in a potential lover. It's a cute ship, but I don't see it happening, at least with the Merida and Rapunzel I know.
