I love their ship name so much! xD I mean, ThinIce? It's perfect! (Yes, I know there are others, but I prefer this one x3)
...Just kinda wish I liked the ship as much as the ship name
Again, I get the connection. They're misunderstood characters who could balance each other out...yet, when it comes to their personalities, I can't find much connection.
I mean, their circumstances are very different. Sure, they do destroy the world around them, but unlike with Elsa, who does it for relief and freedom, and doesn't realize the wrong she's done until she's told by Anna, the Once-ler knew very well what he was doing, and even if he was trying to justify himself, he still did dickish things. The Once-ler's story is more to show the effects of massive greed. Elsa's story is to show the real meaning of freedom. The connection is there, but it isn't identical.
I'm not sure if the Once-ler can connect to Elsa on a mature level. He mostly acts his age, if only a little more childish. Elsa acts as an adult. I can't see Elsa finding something in the Once-ler that she desperately needs and can't find in someone else, so I can't really ship them as a summer fling either. I just can't find much attraction between the two besides some connection and a bit of shallowness (I can't help but feeling that the Once-ler would mostly like Elsa because she's gorgeous and a queen, and it rubs me the wrong way.) That and I feel that the Once-ler's arrogance would annoy Elsa to some extent. There's just something childish about the things Once-ler does that Elsa couldn't really relate to.
Just...I don't know, I just don't see it. I can see the connection, just not the attraction.
