This one had to happen. It just had to. They are the protagonists, so therefore it had to happen.
But still....I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't.
Look, the biggest reason that I love Baymax is that he can show so much care without having emotion. He says in a part of the movie a line that indicates that he doesn't feel, and he's fine with that. All he cares about is in his program: to help and cure all the sick people in the world. He's doing what his program asked him, and he always feels like what he is. He doesn't feel like a robot wanting to be a human, he feels like a great robot being a great robot. You don't see that much often with how media is obsessed with making technology feel and stuff.
So if he doesn't have emotion....why would he love Hiro? He mostly seems to have special care for Hiro because that's probably what Tadashi wanted and programmed. Tadashi wouldn't make a robot fall in love with Hiro, he took Baymax very seriously and so did his mission. Besides, the friendship is completely fine on its own. I don't really get why you have to make it into more.
